Ah yes, although we'll just have to wait and see on the quality of Battle.net in that sense.

I was reading the wrapup on Slashdot and the whinny bitches can't stop talking about the LAN thing enough. They interviewed four guys at Blizzard and asked the LAN question to all of them, and one of them was an ART GUY.

The logic as to why they removed LAN is controversial, but the adjustments to Battle.net for "testing" is amazing.. I'll go into more detail on this later, unfortunately I don't know if it's alright yet to mention.

What, that they're going to let only select people do the LAN setup for tournament purposes? We already know that.

No, no, please- I don't care much for eSports, I meant modding related.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that if you have doubts, it probably isn't ok to mention? I dunno, the last time i talked to developers was E3 2006. sometimes they shoot off their mouths too much.
Now with 50% more lol, 50% more win, and 100% phlail.

I personally cared very little about LAN or the whole b.net overhaul.  Kinda fell on deaf ears for me. >>

Remember how I said the diablo 3 files were down for the longest time?

Well, they're up now.

And the downloader says "This file is not authorized" and nothing happens.

Awesome.

Hmm, so far it looks like we have two spellcasters and two up close fighters.  I wonder if the last one will be an Amazon type?

An Archer class seems like the best bet.  The only other thing I could see would be something like the Paladin (with auras or some type of buffs and potentially healing).  Different name and flavour though, I think they want to avoid bringing back too many old classes and having too much class overlap with WoW.

As an aside, I hope we get to discover what horrible fates befall the D2 heroes like we did for the D1 heroes (Warrior/Dark Wanderer, Rogue/Blood Raven and Sorcerer/Fake-Horazan).  Although, it does seem like the Barbarian gets to survive.  Good for him.

The Barbarian you play is the Diablo 2 Barbarian, while the rest have been stated to have their stories revealed.

I also believe it'll be some sort of ranged Archer class, possibly combined with auras, hah. Unless the Wizard can cast healing spells, or the Monk is trained in health bonuses for others, there's no healing class yet.

I really doubt there will be a "healing" class since D3 isn't built around the MMO system of Tank/Healer/DPS, its pretty much everyone is DPS.

That's good to hear!  Can't wait to find out what horrible, ironic and/or gruesome fates have befallen the remaining D2 characters!

I have to agree with HK: I don't think we'll see a dedicated, full-time healer/support class, every class needs to be able to stand on its own in Diablo.
