No, WC3C stopped being profitable. So he left.

You guys don't really realize how much money he was making off that place.
Now with 50% more lol, 50% more win, and 100% phlail.

This is what the red squid heads are called: Unbroken Darkhunter, Rager and Darkweaver. The Faceless Ones (even stronger purple squid heads) are Trickster, Terror and Deathbringer. From what I recall, WarCraft lore refers at some point to the "Old Gods" or something and that they were banished long ago. The Unbroken (sealed away for untold millennia but "not broken" by their confinement), would have been the army of these Old Gods. As I recall, they were worshiped by the Nerubians.

UPDATE 1: Here we go. C’Thun and Yogg-Saron were two of these Old Gods. There were 5 total. Yogg would likely be the Old God of the Unbroken.

UPDATE 2: And here's where it all comes together. The Lich King info at the end is most revealing.
Arthas fought a Forgotten One there. Shame, woulda loved to see it.
Yes, that's the event I was thinking of. Killing the Forgotten One would have been the call to arms that brought the Unbroken to the surface and beyond.
Reasonable hire rates you say? Have you done any game stuff since then or only radio?
I haven't done any game stuff in several years. It's been mostly radio, TV and podiobooks lately.

He never sold anything, ads don't pay much.  No sponsorships that I remember.  Sounds like blowing smoke to me.  I know he did manage some other sites, never kept track of those tho.

the ads he got on the site paid a lot because of the traffic he was getting. Had to upgrade bandwidth over and over.

And there were a lot of popup garbage that paid well too.

Yea, he also had a blizzard game hacking site.
