Two questions/suggestions
1. Why are the Antioch Chronicles not available, actually? They belong anyway on CC.org, or not?
2. Some know, nevertheless, certainly the Zantaboan saga of Log-Fish?! They should be likewise taken up here.

Re: Two questions/suggestions
Auspex returned whenever SC2 was announced, and brought his site back online, and is hosting them there again. I suspect that CC removed the pages here because of that.Eredalis wrote: 1. Why are the Antioch Chronicles not available, actually? They belong anyway on CC.org, or not?
Although, CC's Antioch Chronicles page still exists here.

Re: Two questions/suggestions
Ah, okay. Thank you, Thal.
CC did not have taken up the Antioch Chronicles in the Navigations menu, because Auspex had already revived his side at this time. Understand.
Okay, nevertheless, but the available side, which you have given in your link, could get a entry in the navigations menu. Would offer in my opinion... (If is, however, only a suggestion, because I am of the opinion: CC without Antioch Chronicles is like StarCraft without Kerrigan. The Antioch Chronicles, above all, part two, are simply the best unofficial campaign for StarCraft: Brood War of all times.)
And I know of course that Auspex has returned the last year in May and his side is online again. About his statement, that he wants to continue the Antioch Chronicles for StarCraft 2, or the next episode would like to produce, I have been glad of course very much.

And does somebody know, actually, the Zantaboan epic, in form of a campaign and flash videos?
Greetings,
Eredalis

Re: Two questions/suggestions
The best unofficial campaign of all times? That's all just based on opinion, I guess. Auspex's work blended very well with Blizzard's, but others, like Oracle, added an entirely new world to Starcraft. I liked TAC 1 a lot, it was so authentic to Starcraft's own Protoss campaign. TAC 2 was very good as well, but I feel it was -- and I don't know if there is a such a thing -- too planned out.Eredalis wrote: Ah, okay. Thank you, Thal.

LotC - to stick to my earlier example - may have deviated from Starcraft's storyline, but it was original in all respects.
By the way, I checked out Zantaboan. It was cool, but I thought the briefings were too short and too direct. Then I read that this Fish guy actually based this campaign on his flash movies, and he didn't do all the writing again.

Re: Two questions/suggestions
Eredalis, I have been attempting to come in contact with Auspex for some time to no result. The reason for contact is simple.. To know whether he actually did or did not approve the hosting of TAC on our site. Until then, the direct link in navigation will be disabled.Eredalis wrote: Ah, okay. Thank you, Thal.

Re: Two questions/suggestions
Yes, it lies, as everybody knows, always in the eye of the viewer.
By no means I also, however, wanted to say with it that Legacy of the Confederation is less good. This unique universe likewise plays in the first league, indisputable. But I find personally it always best when a fan campaign plays in the StarCraft universe and approaches, besides, near the class of the prominent scenarios of Blizzard. So TAC-2 is for me the best fan campaign, however, I wanted to force nobody my opinion.
What I have especially liked in your statement, Legion, was the part as you have said, TAC-1 bring this authentic feeling over here from the Protoss campaign of StarCraft. Exactly I have also liked this always in such a way, besides, the story around the Psi Cocoon was really the only logical explanation, why the Psi Blades of Fenix have fallen out in Antioch when he was attacked by the Hydralisks.

Yeah, indeed, this Fish guy (which is, by the way, an Australian) has created a relatively good Storyline, however, he was lately quite lazy instead of finishing the sixth episode of the Zantaboan_Saga. There is, by the way, one more scion of the Zantaboan campaign: The Promethean Prologue Campaign! To find likewise on his side.
However, a thing has become clear to me by your post, Legion. If one knows only the campaign Zantaboan, it looks a little bit hectic and quick really. It is quite necessary to see them in connection with the flash videos, because the whole thing looks otherwise a little odd.

Re: Two questions/suggestions
The campaigns are freely distributable as per the StarCraft/StarEdit EULA. Anyone may host the campaigns so long as they include the following notice:
As co-creator and legal guardian of the material, I requested that it be removed when the owners/administrators of the Antioch Forever fan site publicly disrespected my wishes regarding the material and, unhappy with my follow-up takedown notices, began a campaign of harassment that eventually lead to my permanent banishment from their forums.
Some may be confused about the removal of certain materials from the Antioch Forever website which are partially replicated on the revived Antioch Chronicles website. Most of this material was either created by me as co-creator of TAC2 and the unfinished TAC3 or created in conjunction with Ruben and/or other members of Auspex Studios.Copyright © 1998 - 2002 Auspex Turmalis (Ruben Moreno) & Zeus Legion (Eric Dieter)
All Antioch Chronicles campaign sounds, characters, story concepts and related media are Copyright © Auspex Turmalis (Ruben Moreno) & Zeus Legion (Eric Dieter) and may not be used without express written permission. The Antioch Chronicles is a freeware StarCraft campaign and as such may be distributed without cost as long as all related files are bundled together, unmodified, and as long as no profit is made from said distribution.

Re: Two questions/suggestions
So Antioch Forever is a fan site, while Antioch Chronicles is the official web site with which you are still associated with? I never understood that whole incident. Maybe its time to just mend the fences and be done with it. By the way, hiyas.

Re: Two questions/suggestions
Is the campaign still playable on the current SC version? If not I'll make an exe for it so it works.

Re: Two questions/suggestions
In the years following Auspex's departure, I did not have the time and finances to maintain the EZboard/Coolboard forums when they became a paid-only service (there was no SMF or cheap GoDaddy hosting back then) and a fan offered to host them at Ashenvale. This eventually morphed into Antioch Forever. Antioch Chronicles has always been the official site created and maintained by Ruben. It's more of a museum at the moment until Auspex decides to return again.Desler wrote: So Antioch Forever is a fan site, while Antioch Chronicles is the official web site with which you are still associated with?
Hello, Des. Good to see you're still around after all these years. Fence mending with the handful of persons responsible is highly unlikely. The ferocity and level of viciousness with which I was attacked simply for posting my thoughts there in the days leading up to my banishment (let alone the actual content of my posts, my wishes regarding the material or the takedown notices that followed) was far beyond the level of any civil human discourse. Once you cross a certain line, it's nigh impossible to come back from it.I never understood that whole incident. Maybe its time to just mend the fences and be done with it. By the way, hiyas.
Haven't installed SC on my system in years. It should still work though unless they patched it again all these years later.Whiplash! wrote: Is the campaign still playable on the current SC version? If not I'll make an exe for it so it works.

I felt the same way about the first and second campaigns, Legion. (I guess it's going to be confusing differentiating between you two now.
)
I never understood how it escalated the way it did from a forum thread to wherever it went, but eh.

Out of respect, the creator's wishes should always be honored. I am curious, though, what the Antioch Forever site did that was against your wishes, Zeus Legion.

Re: Two questions/suggestions
I lack the words!
What a great honour!
Not only the founder of CC Desler writes in my thread, but also the (true)
Mastermind behind the Antioch Chronicles 2.
To tell the truth, I would never have held it for possible to speak really one day with one half of the makers of the Antioch Chronicles 2 - Negative Suns.
Before I start now to sound like a little, freaky groupie, I would rather like to say something that to me for a long time, long time burns in the soul:
Zeus, I personally find it a great pity ones that the Antioch Chronicles 3 - Thoughts in Chaos were never brought to an end.
I have discovered in beginning of 2006 the script of episode 3 on Antioch Forever and have read in the following months several times. AC 3 would have become without doubt the best Mod campaign ever.
Above all I like Zethys, especially his prehistory "Diary of a madman". Every time if I have read this, becomes clear to me like with pleasure I would have commanded his Manticore brood...
When Auspex last year has made his side online again, Zethys became at the first time for me reality:
"You cannot imagine the joy that comes from dismembering a creature while it is still alive."
Oh man, sorry. As you see, my passion for your universe, that you and Auspex have created, is very high.
=================================================================
But to hear all this information which you have written here, are already a strong piece. I have always asked myself what has happened at that time (end of 2006) on Antioch Forever. If you ask me, these people on this side are anyhow the purest Nerds. I mean, on me make half of the users the impression that they do not know yet from which core this page / forum has originated.
But okay... it's very nice to see you after all these years back in action, Zeus.
Last I would like to say:
May the light of StarCraft 2 shine your way of future creations...
Greetings from Germany
