Monitors

Post by Lavarinth »

Alright- I've had the same monitor for years, limited to a resolution of 1280x1024. Is there any recommendations for monitors now a days? I'm basically irritated having the computer graphically limited by my monitor now a days.

I have a 20-inch 4:3 syncmaster s-pva and it rocks.  Only problem is the color isn't perfect.  The response time is great and there's no smearing or ghosting or anything.  I'd recommend it as long as you don't do lots of graphic design work where color reproduction needs to be perfect.

The bigger the better.  I think Dell has the cheapest 30 inchers.

But it's a CRT.. I don't have that kind of space.. Something CLOSE to good color is fine.

Then check out the reviews for that samsung to see how good the color is.  It's probably good enough as long as you calibrate it to the printer.

The only thing reliable our store has brought from Dell was monitors.. But seemed most of theirs is very limited on resolutions, and any driver updates on them lock the setting to the worst resolution and color.

Thanks, AA7, now let's see..

Again, I'm still looking out there.

Is 1920x1200 the new standard resolution?  I asked because I noticed a 30 inch monitor had 2560x1600.
