Well, DotA2 surely not. The last of that genre I remember playing was Storm of the Imperial Sanctum on SC II, and I dare say that it's WAY more completed than DotA2. (On technical aspect, I dare say.)

lol dota clones
Dota 2 looks just as ass as the first one, honestly. I don't see what's so appealing about these games. I can understand the first dota, what with wc3 melee flopping largely overall, but don't you think making like 42 games and clones based on it gets old?

Most of the players from this forum that play a DotA-like game mostly play LoL. This includes let's see ... Lavachu, Dread, Hearst, Milldawg, Zilla, Shadowflare and then occasionally myself.

Yeah. I know. More than a few have tried to suck me into it.

Re: Anyone playing Dota2 around here?
I'd try DOTA2, but I dislike last-hitting in LoL, so the prospect of adding Denies atop that task isn't so appealing.
Stands for Defense of the Ancients. It's an extremely popular Warcraft III custom map where you control a single hero in a team with other players against a rival team. Your goal is to destroy the enemy base's Ancient. Minion waves spawn from each base and travel down three distinct paths, called lanes, to attack one another. Killing enemy minions earns you gold and experience. With experience you level up, allowing you to upgrade one of your four spells, and with gold you can buy and upgrade items that improve your character. By playing well, you can outpace your enemy and push past their defensive towers into their base, but you must also coordinate effectively with your teammates or the enemy team can overpower you. After defending their lanes for a time to level up, players come together and team fights happen, where a dizzying array of spells and clever maneuverings are on display. The victors of these battles are then able to push further into enemy territory unmolested before the enemy team respawns to have another go.mark_009_vn wrote:What's Dota?

Oh, I always thought Dota was supposed to be an RPG map or something... guest I was wrong.

I last-hit just fine (only SF has had a better CS in our games together), but I find it boring compared to harassing enemy champions. This is one reason why I prefer Dominion.
