Steve Jobs Passes Away

Post by Lavarinth »

While I disliked the iPhone, Macs, and most Apple products, his support for starting Pixar, funding with Disney, Marvel, Lucas Arts, and other great companies wouldn't of grown to what they are now without his support.

Damn.

That is a weird statement. While you disliked Apple, Jobs' support for other companies was still invaluable? Okay. :)

Apple products.

EDIT: Things like Pixar were an investment for him. Without his investment and literal risk taking, it would of never existed. The Pixar story is literally nothing but back of forth luck for them, to be honest.

Luck. And here I am recalling what Steve said about success and hard work.

We require more luck.

He was success and hard work (and smart investing). John Lasseter is lucky. He's also a brilliant guy, though, so it's good that he was lucky.

Yeah, somehow the smarter and quicker someone is, the more luck they find. Not that there ain't those disasters along the way though.

Maybe luck is an eventuality. It's like "game sense".

It takes smartness and quickness to make opportunities for luck, and to be able to capitalize on them. Take Indie devs for example. You'll have a hard time finding a genuinely intelligent person amongst them, but they have the intelligence just enough to suck in casuals. They are lucky that the average IQ of gamers is dropping each and every month so they can put less and less work into their games.

Was that before or after the hideous amount of patent trolling and trying to bar competitors from selling products in countries?
