Campaigning for SC2?

Post by The Oracle »

Any of the old guard (and new guard) making campaigns for SC2 using that ultra-advanced map editor Blizzard is promising?  We going to see any existing campaigns redone if you are or will you make new campaigns and new storylines?

Pleasure to see you stop by Oracle, personally myself and Maglok have our minds rumbling about in thought of creating something. Early planning, right? Then again, I'm sure we're not the only ones.

Also, I've adjusted your forum status.

It's just that itch again. Now we are older, wise and more experienced. Bring it on.

What are you planning on something Oracle? ;)

Personally I don't see myself doing anything in starcraft 2 now that Blizzard is expressing lack of desire to expand their game and make it more inviting for modders.

In general though I am retiring from modding so I guess that doesn't really change anything.

That probably means ITASUS will either die or switch to supreme commander. Only time will tell.

Oi! Oracle! you're the guy who made LotC! Great mod man :) . The only mod I liked more than LotC was VotF. Then again, I need to test out ascension of Duran.

Dont change the topic...

Also I would probably love to see someone if you dont do it yourself Oracle remake LoTC on SC2. I sort of have an idea for a SC2 campaign but im still working on mine as of now.

Fixed.

Oracle, I actually would love to see a remake of LotC, but then again, that's my inner childing yearning to come out. Plus voicing Keepers is awesome, hah.

Personally, I never made a campaign for either BW or WC3, always preferring making multiplayer maps instead.

I might do tutorial maps similar to my WC3 scheme for SC2 since it will be more worthwhile in a game's prime rather than WC3's situation being "either you already learned a good while over the years or you will probably never will".

I'll definatly make a campaign for SC2.  Don't know what yet.  But I can't imagine me not playing around with SC2's Map Editor.

I wish I could make LotC 3 Maglok.  I just don't have time like I did back at the turn of the century.  I'm finishing up my degree and have a high level management position which would string out a lot of the map development time by months.  I also don't have access to the voice actors I once did which is too bad.  Gerson Drake, Karla Wainwright, and of course Ambrosia are long since gone.  I'd have to do it with a totally new cast.

Anyhow, more information than you probably wanted, but I figured why not explain.  I do look forward to playing some of what you guys put out into the field though.  Please keep the forums updated with your creations.

Ah yes I know what you mean. I have lost track of all my VA buddies from 'way back'  as well. I remember Xavier, he was a great guy, totally poof. Archangel is so busy now with other stuff and I even find myself busy, but not to busy.

We'll keep people posted eventually, at the moment though SC2 isn't even out yet. We are just throwing around story ideas and fleshing out some characters.

About Joel, I have seen him @ the planescape trilogy forum for NWN2 a bit back, he started voicing for it and I was editing sound there. Problem is that mod seems to totally have died out.

That's an interesting thread: I came to CC today with the exact same thought in mind(to start a thread about SC2 campaigns and remakes).

I'll probably end up making something for SC2, although lack of time means I can't plan anything too epic, too big. As far as I know, Auspex from The Antioch Chronicles intends to continue the Antioch saga - not with TAC3 though, he says. Heh, it'd be cool if we could see the classics being remade and/or finished: classics such as CI, Gallantry, Newrand Citadel and such, although, let´s be realistic, I don't really expect to see these since their authors have mostly vanished.

Speaking of sequels, I bet RCX will end up making something for SC2 as well. A brand new saga or maybe a VotF sequel? Would be pretty cool. :)

Among those of you considering SC2 campaigning, do you intend to remake your SC1 campaigns, make brand new stuff or try both? A remake is something I'm currently contemplating, especially since it'll help me get used to the SC2 map editor, although I can't rule out the possibility of a sequel to my own maps. Meh, just wish I had the time to make'em all.  :-\

Hey Oracle!

It's been a LONG time! I was planning on doing my campaign for SC1, but I might transfer it to SC2... I've been busy lately, but things may be cooling down for me, so I'll have some spare time again... =)

I'll release something before SC1, though.

Good to see you guys again!
