Is there any way to convert .mp3s to .wav files, I have songs I want to put in maps.

I use goldwave, works great.
http://www.goldwave.com/ I reccomend saving the .wav files as 8 bit mono to save space, quality is reduced but its not that noticeable.

Terrible idea. You should always save them as 16 bit so that they can be compressed. And if it's a full fledged song, you should generally shoot for anything above 16 KHz and below 36 Khz, that's usually a good range to save space and have it stay at high quality.

I use Adobe Audition 2.0 and Goldwave, literally Adobe Audition is alot better than gold wave, its much easier to use and whatnot. I'd go with that.

Yeah, NEVER use 8-bit sound. It's terrible. Stick with 16-bit.

Yeah, or else you get that scratchy background noise and a static sound when there's any bass.
Also, make sure to convert it to PCM WAVE/WAV format. Starcraft can't use anything MPEG-Layer 3 or otherwise, which is kind of limiting. If you forget to do it, the sound won't play and will just lag the map.

22.5kHz, 16-bit. Mono or Stereo, your choice. This is generally the most reasonable way to convert a small WAV.

To late I have seen it.
*ROAARRR*
Seriously though. Starcraft is a very old game and there is a reason sounds are 22.5khz mono, it can't handle stereo or more khz, it basically downgrades it. Engine limitation. Always use what they use. The only exception might be the music, but I am unsure about that it has been years since I modded SC.
8bit... the thought! *makes note*... 8bit *mutters darkly*

Okay, I'll try goldwave and all the other ones you guys said. I downloaded a few before but they only would convert 50% b/c of trial bullshit.
