That depends on the place they are (eggs usually sit out for longer if they are within their carton), temperature, humidity and the status of the small chick living within it, sir.

Indeed? Hmmm.... If there were a chicken harboring this egg, then that poses the challenge of a time limit. I must find the egg before it hatches! If a painted egg hatches, does it yield a painted chick?
