Fraps 2.9.9
A new version of fraps came out that makes recording starcraft and other ddraw games virtually flawless.

Very cool to hear. Does it have better video compression now too, or am I still going to be having 5 minute 8 GB video files?

Re: Fraps 2.9.9
You can compress it yourself assuming you're not letting it run for 2 hours before you start manual compression. The best quality-for-size tradeoff format is .rvmb at 200 MB for an hour since .avi is usually about 500 MB for half an hour.Symmetry wrote: Very cool to hear. Oh I know, it was just a major hassle on my old computer when I only had ~1gb of free hard drive

Re: Fraps 2.9.9
The files are always going to be big, theres only so much compression you can do in real-time especially when it can record at resolutions upwards of 1920x1200.
