Scripting language is their C-based scripting language, sc2's equivelent of JASS.

Hopefully, it will be less WTF than other C-based scripting languages like JASS or NWN's.

NWN was C-based as well, I believe. Either that or C++. So you're looking at something somewhat similar to that most likely.

Very noice. However what I said about arrow-key movement in multiplayer still stands unless they seriously reduce the latency.  :P

Yeah I was talking to mesk over vent about it all, its great they are showing this off that you can do it without it looking half-assed but really work unless its singleplayer or the net code actually has support for such

Battle.net looks to me to be quite an experience. I play WoW and will play D3 as well as SC2, and this will come in handy big time.

I am impressed by what I have seen and will rethink some of my plans. I was kind of hoping for some more SC2 things and a beta date though. Coverage sites have lists of D3 and WoW and like 3 links of SC2.

The starcraft 2 Developers who were wandering the show had a very interesting tshirt. This is the back of the shirt:

I think terrible was only used as a negative modifier once in that whole video but do hope they include it as a cheat code when the game comes out like operation cwal.

IskatuMesk wrote: what the FUCK @ allowing charging for maps. What the hell are they thinking?
I'll have to agree with WarBringer- If a map/mod is extremely unique to the point it's its own game (almost), I believe it should have the opportunity to receive funds from the work. Again, not everyone will bother to purchase a map that you have to pay for anywhere and the quality of free gaming is still as good as premium.
Hunter_Killers wrote: Speaking of which they also mentioned cloud storage so you actually download maps from battle.net.
There's actually a lot more you'll be able to do with cloud storage on Battle.net. More on this later.
IskatuMesk wrote: Lav better ask some good editor questions in the next Q&A or I'll hang him. I'm interested to hear Blizzard actually recognize mods as different than maps for a change.

.....

Wow, very bad response from the differentiation between maps and mods. Blizzard seriously thinks they're the same thing. Facepalm.
My questions were asked outside the panel.

Guess who asked the map/mod question, though.
IskatuMesk wrote: One has to wonder about mod support, though. Do they still have a mod loader, and how powerful is it? Will they include importers as well as exporters with their 3d package?
Yes, it wont launch with release though, it'll be included at a later time. The modding aspect is absolutely more powerful, again, more on this soon.

This is all still beta, actually the 3rd person aspect is "retro" now I suppose as they actually have a working version of the mouse-movement version instead over keyboard.

Confusing statement ;) If you mean if any of this would work over Battle.net, the.. Extremes it could go to, yeah, it would work on Battle.net, otherwise I'm lost.

Latency is what I was referring to over battle.net, real time movement via the keyboard usually gets mangled by it.
