Less surprised over Obama winning, more surprised by the margin of victory. o.o

Congratulations to the President elect. Hopefully this new administration will prove its doubters wrong and demonstrate executive aptitude akin to something we need. We've elected the guy into office, so maybe we'll actually get the economy back on track. I wonder how the last 3 months of Bush will pan out.

In any case, so long as we are a superpower with the influence and power we command, there will always be a sizable chunk of the world hating us.
I beg to differ, there is increasingly difficult even for US friends in my country to defend the US when Bush has gone rampant with the (at least percieved so in my country) illegal invasion of Iraq, Guantanamo waterboarding/jailed without justice- camps and sending terror-suspects to interrogation in countries where torture is legal.

Both candidates were good guys, so I was going to be happy no matter who won.  It's a shame the republican side spent so much time demonizing Obama, because anyone who took in those tactics without a grain of salt just aren't going to accept Obama... ever.  And why should they?  He's an anti-american/racist/communist/terrorist/some-other-kind-of-ist abomination who seeks only the destruction of the world. ::)

Meh.

I think it's funny that there's so much rage flying around, and the only bad he's done is in future hypothetical situations.  Typically the anger is reserved at least until he's in office.

Whether you be R, D, or other, I think one thing everyone can agree on is that its good that Bush is finally being replaced.  I still think he had a lot of shit to deal with that wasn't his fault, though he didn't always handle everything in the best way possible.  At the very least, I think it'll ease peoples minds to see a new leader.  I can't help but wonder - what we'll be doing in Iraq, or how the economy will looks, or what international opinion will look like - one year from now.

Yo Americans, the international community hates you because you stick your dick in places it doesn't belong by trying to police the world. Stop listening to the UN since it's a fucking sham. Voila! Within 10 years everyone will love you again!

Proven by the polls.  95% of all African-Americans voted for Obama, regardless of whether or not they agreed with his policies.  Not that they really care, anyway.  Although, at least it will be easier to live off of Welfare! ;)
