Fiction update.

- Producer-san's Work Log 2 Basically looking at Shizuka Minazuki from an outsider's point of view. Since she was instrumental in Moonlight Prism's formative years understanding her influence is kind of important for him to know, but it's obviously not as straightforward as it sounds. And it really starts to question his 'good guy' VN protagonist viewpoint, which is hilarious to me.

Fiction update.

- Producer-san's Work Log 3 More on the continuing saga of the hapless Producer of Moonlight Prism.

I was going to post this last week, but I got busy and forgot.

If it seems like I'm throwing 'filler' out in a way I kind of am, because I haven't had a lot of time in the past couple months to finish editing Shizuka's actual next story because of all the planning and research involved around it.

I also reached a realization that I probably can't write a lot of Moonlight Prism stories anymore because their main story conflict is essentially over. Because I resolved the conflict with their main antagonists they aren't dealing with a world where they need to constantly prove themselves anymore, but in a way perhaps it is for the best, since every character doesn't need to live a soap opera style life. Not that they're going to disappear or anything, just have a relatively 'normal' life (kind of how like Miranda hasn't gotten a story in forever because I don't have another outlet for her self-centered morality gimmick right now)

Fiction update.

- Crimson Orchid The latest story about Shizuka.

Time to come clean. I worked on this for a VERY long time. I outlined this one out at first as a one and done movie project, but it ballooned from there because more things started happening because Shizuka decided to join this film. And for a time I was thinking of separating it into two parts, but the obvious break point made one side incredibly lopsided, so I gave up and kept it together.

And another thing that happened was that I was largely resistant to posting this because it's actually a huge milestone for Shizuka's character arc and because of what I ended up with in a way I hit a narrative dead end with her like I did with Moonlight Prism. And by posting this I have to admit that her story as it was for the past year or more (I don't remember when I started writing) is over.
Spoiler
Fundamentally Shizuka's biggest character flaw was her recklessness; during Wanderers of Sorceria it manifested in a disregard for her own life, something which she doesn't overcome by the end of the campaign. And in the stories she largely retained that attitude. And when she became a model and actress that recklessness manifested in an excuse of 'for the art' and was inadvertently 'enabled' by Yuki. So the story of Crimson Orchid is, in a way, Shizuka having to confront that her recklessness is a huge liability to herself and the people around her.
I don't know what I'm going to do with writing from this point, but hopefully it won't be such a huge long 'epic' or something. So if you actually read this, thank you and I hope you enjoyed a messy ride.
