Can't get my wireframes to work.

Is there a tutorial on how to make a wireframe change colors when a unit is attacked? I used the same colors as on queen's wirefram and it doesn't work. I thought the problem is I didn't use enough colors, but the current wireframe looks like this:

I extracted .pal file from the original wireframe, tried applying it to mine in psp and irfan view, still doesn't work. Wat do?
