There is only one level of Starcraft that's really difficult in any way, and that is Vanilla Zerg mission 3. Fuck that shit, the enemy has seige tanks and turrets and higher ground, all you've got are mutas.

Huh, I seem to remember easily winning by just expanding once, and then spamming like 100 mutas, then just throwing them all at the terran base. With no micro whatsoever.

IMO the BW Zerg level where you have to beat Zeratul's Protoss in less than 25 or 30 minutes or whatever was kinda tough, due to the Protoss defenses which included Reavers, Carriers and lots of Templar.
Oh, and btw, site has been updated with the Mothership.

edit - Damn I am glad they kept the whole superunit shit out of the picture. Keep on that track, blizzard. Now, just make the terran less cartoony, finish the zerg, and give me the damn thing.

My thoughts exactly. But lol, it's gonna be hillarious to see like five motherships in one battle.Doctor Doack wrote: edit - Damn I am glad they kept the whole superunit shit out of the picture. Hello, mother leopard.
I have your cub.
You must protect her,
But that will be expensive...
10,000 kola nuts,
Wrapped in brown paper...
Midnight, behind the box
I'll be the hyena, you'll see.

Re: StarCraft II Official! (Pictures)
All they need to do is change the name. Mothership doesn't really fit the protoss, or their new naming scheme, anyway.
Get rid of the Colossus, and call it that (Personally I'd settle with "Mega Carrier") Replace the Colossus with a reaver that isn't on stilts and resembles a mechanical worm instead of a ribbed penis. Add the Carrier, replace the orb with something a little more sensible. Add observer. There, protoss is virtually done, release a beta to the public so I can start modding it.
edit - Also major lulz at people complaining about the thor being difficult to micro. WELL NO SHIT IT'S AN INTELLIGENCE UNIT NOT A MICRO UNIT

Re: StarCraft II Official! (Pictures)
I agree, the title of the Mothership does not fit with having multiple copies on the battlefield. Typically, there's only one mother.
So they gave the cloaking field to the Mothership? Is the Star Orb/Relic still around then? Did anyone else think the Planet Cracker looked weak with its very small damage radius barely touching the SCV's? Did the regular ground attack seem a little weak to you too? I didn't see it doing any serious damage to anything in those .gifs.
With the Warp Rays and Carriers taking care of the big units, what role does the Mothership play and why would you want more than one anyway? It looks like they turned the Mothership into an Arbiter that switched out the awesome ability of Recall for the Corsair's Disruption Field. *tear*

Re: StarCraft II Official! (Pictures)
The absence of Recall and Disruption Web really makes me want to cry.
And yeah, AA7, planet cracker did look pretty weak =/
In my opinion, they should just trash the Mothership and come up with something that isn't ridiculous.
I would rather see Blizzard keep the voicing, and the general idea of the Mothership (aerial support), toss in Recall, Planet Cracker (buffed; although I'd rather a more defensive ability), Stationary Cloak, WWI Time Bomb (currently you cast it on enemy units, their projectiles don't go through). Remodel it, and make it less annoying as fuck. Then give the Star Relic (or whatever it's name is) Disruption Web, and call it a day. I really like the idea of an epic support unit, that in pretty much most cases, you'd only have one anyways.
Oh and Mesk, I like the Colossus. Besides with the new IK system, I'm pretty sure every race is going to/needs to feature atleast one cliff-climbing unit.

Re: StarCraft II Official! (Pictures)
Mothership's model is fine. The abilities are fine as well. It's supposed to be a support unit, a job it does rather well. AFAIK time bomb is exactly the same as in WWI.
The colossus is a gimmick for IK and really badly thought out. Ever since war of the worlds everyone has been jumping to stick giant tall walker mechs into games and it doesn't remotely fit the protoss, and the excuse for its creation is poor.
Star relic is gone, replaced by the stasis orb, a ground unit that so far doesn't look like it will be staying.

Look in at the Mothership page on the site, the Time Bomb is being used on enemy units.Doctor Doack wrote: Mothership's model is fine. The abilities are fine as well. It's supposed to be a support unit, a job it does rather well. AFAIK time bomb is exactly the same as in WWI.

And the Colossus being a gimmick for IK is exactly what I meant, I'm pretty sure they want to showcase it. The Stasis Orb and Star Relic were the same thing (basically) I thought? Either way, I agree with you, it'll probably get replaced soon.

... Time bomb was always a directed ability.
Stasis orb is a small ground unit using the star relic's graphic but it works completely different. It shoots lightning that slows a target unit.
