Re: The New Forum
I don't think you want to avoid triviality with CC. That's all we have.

Re: The New Forum
ah.. maybe triviality was the wrong term; avoid juvenility.
^^ wow on a trivial note: hope that juvenility is a real word cause my firefox browser is barking at me that I'm spelling it incorrectly no matter how I try to type it out. I don't have the energy to look it up either.

I will also ban a user if I deem it fit for any reason I find worthy, granted I am quite lenient. One user has already been banned for three months.Lavarinth wrote:For those of your curious, no- your posts aren't vanishing. I'm deleting them because I find them stupid and I'm tired of watching this place turn into a location for stupid jokes and posts with an IQ of 0 to 5. I'm doing it without warning, and whenever I feel the post is deemed ridiculous. If you don't like it, I can't apologize, as you failed to realize posting things at a rudimentary level of thinking wont prevent you from growing older, in the event your goal was infinite youth.
This forum has problems, and this year, I plan to clean it up.

This reminds me of an old adage: You can lead a man away from Proboards, but you can't make him link.Lavarinth wrote:Your signature makes me want to ban you for not updating it yet.mAc Chaos wrote:Who is it. :3

Reputations should be back in the board. It's a different system.

In Chrome, every post has this immediately after the post's text, just above the signature:
Code: Select all
{ RS_ADD_POINTS }
0
{ RS_SUBTRACT_POINTS }

Re: The New Forum
More Debbie Downer suggestions!
EDIT:... after reading this, there's prob a feature that allows viewing posts w/o signatures huh! LOL.. nvrmind.

Spoiler
If you want to promote a more "mature" environment axe all these silly signatures that abound here. Signatures are great and have their purpose, but most of the forums I visit are riddled w/ HUGE pictures and random shit that only further demotes the mood. I see one line comments all the time that take up half the page's real estate because of all the bullshit signature stuff the member feels he has to entertain us with.
Silly and meaningless signatures encourage others to follow suit and include their own meaningless shit. Custom avatars should allow plenty of personal expression alone. I'd personally axe all signatures, but I tend to be extreme like that. At the least maybe just limit them to text such as TeamLiquid.net and other sites employ. If someone has something additional to convey that requires media in the form of an image, video, etc, let them do so in their personal profile rather than having to be bombarded by their huge meaningless picture over and over and over and over and over again.
... To be edited once I find the most annoying picture for a signature I can locate that still fits within the "rules"!

Re: The New Forum
Baja, I'm going to craft a .gif out of the entire dragonball Z series, apply a billion seizure-inducing filters, and embed it in my signature just for you. It will cap out my entire Canadian internet just to upload it, and it will be beautiful. Prepare yourself.
