Hello again
Hi there. My name is Legion. I used to be part of this community like 20 years ago.
I've recently started playing SC again, and I came back here. Not many of you may know me, cept Lava maybe.
I'm looking forward to a great time!
Legion
ps.
Does anyone happen to have my 2 level campaign Homeworld? It was crap, but I'd like to see it again...

Re: Hello again
Hey man, good to see you.
How have you been doing?
I've got a MacBook and I was very happy with it, until I discovered that practically nothing of starcraft runs on OSX. I can't even make my own maps anymore.
I need stupid carbons for everything.
I'm itching to make maps (campaign), but I can't do anything now. Guess I'll have to resort to my slow windows pc then...
Anyway, how is your sound engineering going?

Bootcamp allows installing Windows in addition to OSX. I've also seen "Parallels Desktop" which sounds interesting but I'm not sure how it works.

Re: Hello again
I see. Well, I've been a little Googling, and I understand it now. Maybe I'll do that.Xenon wrote: Bootcamp allows installing Windows in addition to OSX. I've also seen "Parallels Desktop" which sounds interesting but I'm not sure how it works.
Blizzard said they're not going to Carbonize StarEdit (for obvious reasons: why would they?) so I'm going to have to do something.
Maglok, yes, I am Dutch. I'm also getting back to sound engineering, but unfortunatly (FUCK U APPLE!!) I can't use CoolEdit or GoldWave on my MacBook.
I'm glad CC is still here/here again. I used to love it. I've already played some of the campaigns again. I used to have my campaign Homeworld (2- 3 levels) hosted by CC, but it was actually really bad. I can't even remember what it was about.
Btw, I'm so looking forward to SC2.

Re: Hello again
Legion, installing Windows in Apple will solve a lot of your problems you are facing from Apple's current limitation. Not to mention their Audition equivalent (can't remember the name of it) requires some bogus device attached to actually function, thus eliminating the possibility of "cracking" it.
If you're still into sound engineering does that also include your voice in terms of acting? Because you have ended up becoming one of the more memorable voices in the community.

Re: Hello again
Hmm, Legion showed up at SA a while ago then when I had some voices for him to do he immediately vanished again. But now that he's back, there's no escaping! Except... I don't need the voices for a while. So, if you're here when SC2 rolls around, I'm going to conscript you.

Lava, yes I am trying to get back to doing that! I dont have any of my old samples anymore. I don't know what I've done, I just heard myself in some campaign the other day-- scary.
Also, you're right about the Apple thing. They've got ProTools and Peak, but both of them require a) a whole lot of money or b) some bogus device to function.
It's worth considering installing Windows...
Doctor, I have no recollection of that ever happening, but it sure sounds like me! Seriously, though, I came back and vanished over the course of, what?, a week. Apologies.

Re: Hello again
Your sound engineering was always very nice. Homeworld was cool because of the voice acting.
I evolved from Cooledit which was bought out by Adobe and is now called Adobe Audition, I still use Goldwave DirectX stuff though.
Macs are good but there are just not the right tools we need these days.
So your getting back into sound engineering, most awesome dewd.
Most awesome. Can't wait to develop some techniques to mimic the new Blizzard sounds.
On a totally unrelated note where did you live in the Netherlands?
