What do you guys think of the design for the body?

I took a dried bat as inspiration ever since for my protoss characters. This one is Elinah's concept transferred to 3d via Sculptris (a cool application btw).




Do female protoss have mammaries?

Judging on that image in comparison to your model, the one thing that immediatly stood out to me were the legs. Unlike the males, Seledis has a more profound near 90 degree turn going on in both her joints on her knee. Naturally as well I want to say that her chest is too wide, but I can't help but believe they all vary in dimensions.

The one thing that spooks me out more than detailed renderings of a male body (man or alien or creature) is a detailed rendering of a female body. I imagine the 'artist' as he's carefully shaping those feminine curves... Badly, because he's probably never seen a female body up close. Or maybe he has, and then it's even worse.

I'm only joking of course. A little.

It's good work and I would never in a million years be able to do what you did, man. So I guess I'm just being vile at this display of talent I'll never have.

Legion, I've seen a woman up close, but just could do that "study" artists are talking about too.

I thought this might make the character up there look a bit of a "sporty" or boyish type. But you're right Lavvz, yeah, that should be an easy fix. Making her more petite would make her identifiable visually. Selendis' legs though is something I don't like. I'm thinking of giving my Protoss some veloceraptor feel to them, and some characteristics of a chicken's.

PrOnogo, I was wondering if she had tits beneath that armor. Selendis wouldn't have her entire chest covered I thought if she had nothing to hide. But then that would make male Protoss have tits too, if we follow this logic.

I will post some progress, but it might be slow. I have to study rigging atm, and get a good understanding of it.

Well, about breasts, there's two things to consider.

First, Protoss don't have mouths. This instantly invalidates the purpose of breasts to begin with.

Second, there is the westernization of scifi that demands every female alien is hot/has tits.

So, simple logic.

Are you American? It has a rack.
Not American? Doesn't have a rack.

So, what if protoss just spills the milk out the nipples, bathing their young all over. They absorb light for nourishment through their skin, and these protoss milk have... bah it's too complicated. Adding the science just to have the breasts.
