Dreams of Eternity
I have never fully let go of my wish and intent to create a Starcraft story centered on the Protoss. Yet, the only thing I did manage to release was a Zerg campaign, Dark Swarm. And even then, I most likely uploaded the wrong campaign files so woe is me. Sorry if you downloaded it last week. I'll get it right one day soon.
ANYWAY, a couple of years back, during the mini-campaign competition, I started work on a Protoss campaign that never saw the light of day. Stiff competition wasn't what made me pull out of the race early, it was lack of creativity, of direction, of ambition.
But Dreams of Eternity is coming. I'm currently developing the storyline, in screenplay format, and I'm hoping to turn it into a Starcraft campaign. If all that fails, I'll release what I have. FOR THE FUTURE!
So, this may or not may not be an announcement worth your time, but Dreams of Eternity is coming.

You have a title. Isn't that the hardest part?

Re: Dreams of Eternity
You know, the word LEGION is somehow related with the word LEGEND!
A legend like the original StarCraft. So, bow down to the legend, with further promising campaigns.
Wait for it, bring it on...

Re: Dreams of Eternity
Well, Legion, you managed at least to launch a completed project. I'm sure you can do it again.
Anyways, I see Broodwar mapping 'n modding ain't as dead as most people feared. Who knows, I might actually look back on one of my old projects, maybe Memories of a Queen? Or Dominion: The Koprulu Crisis, this one's almost finished, it's worth a comeback.

What words? Dreams of Eternity? Just a title - and besides, I used it for a campaign a couple a years back.
I hope to put out a full project once again, yes!

It's one of the concepts in the end of TOA's first novel and overarching plot. I'm kind of curious how you conjured it.Legion wrote:IskatuMesk wrote:u steelin mah werds bro????

I guess great minds do think alike after all.IskatuMesk wrote:It's one of the concepts in the end of TOA's first novel and overarching plot. I'm kind of curious how you conjured it.Legion wrote:IskatuMesk wrote:u steelin mah werds bro????

Or maybe we're both mediocre and think of mediocre concepts.
Or maybe not.
Anyway, to prove I didn't get it from you, viewtopic.php?f=69&t=1620
here's the link to DoE's first incarnation. No conjuring, I'm afraid.
Cheers.

Re: Dreams of Eternity
Nah, I meant to ask, how did you come up with the name?
In TOA, it's part of something one of the main characters says. That the world we exist in is a dream of eternity, because it is trapped in a cycle, and the energy within it is living within a dream until the cycle ends. Can't really say a lot without potentially spoiling it for some readers here, but the cycle thing is more figurative than literal. Eternity, however, is seen as a tangible form of energy (visualized as a violin string). It's also referred to as The Dragon's Riddle or the Riddle of Eternity, in that it cannot be solved by thinking it through.
I probably just confused you but eh. Was a bit weird to hear it referred somewhere else. I've barely written anything about it specifically yet. One of the many things I wish I could finish.

It's really encouraging to watch your sustained interest in SC1, Legion. I hope I can make and release a campaign of my own in the future.
