HUGE LOTC MILESTONE 10-31-10
So it's 1:11am Central Time on 10/31/10 here in Texas and at long last, a MAJOR milestone has been hit.
Voice acting.
As of this time...
ALL VOICE ACTING HAS BEEN COMPLETED FOR LOTC
All voices for episodes 1, 2 and 3 have been recorded. A total of 46 actors participated in the project and to them I extend my most heartfelt gratitude. While I still have post-production editing to do on a lot of these sounds, having them all finally 'in the can' is a huge leap forward for the campaign.
Here's some stats:
Over 13 hours of dialogue spanning all 3 episodes
The actors breathed life into a total of 302 characters (including major characters to bit characters with just 1 line)
The actors also breathed life into a total of 21 new units (6 for Episode 1; 15 for Episodes 2 and 3)
More than 6,000 individual recordings
It's been a wild ride and I am happy to say, it's a major chapter closed in the campaign's production. The next major milestone will be graphics completion and import into the game engine and post-production on the remaining voices.
After that? Just terraining and triggering the maps (which will by far be the easiest and fastest part of the entire gig).
Thanks guys for watching and waiting; I PROMISE you your wait will be well worth it.

How big is your filesize for the archive of all that? I imagine it's considerably higher than the limits imposed by the publishing system.
I'm not looking forward to the voice work for my UDK project if I ever make it that far, not the least of which because I don't intend to spend a single penny on its production.

@Iskatumesk:
It's absolutely larger. I knew a long time ago that these maps would have to be distributed separately and played through the editor 'test' feature. The maps also contain words that Blizzard will ban like 'death' 'kill' and some expletives here and there.

You tell me. IMO, this Blizzard censure thing was the most ABSURD thing ever. I mean, SC I didn't have any of it. What's this moral mania now? Anyone wants moral, go to church I say!The Oracle wrote:The maps also contain words that Blizzard will ban like 'death' 'kill' and some expletives here and there.

The reason they censor maps is because there is no local hosting. They are now responsible for all content played on battle.net because it's hosted on battle.net. So instead of using the ESRB's way out, "Game experience may change during online play", they just arbitrarily censor everything.
A nice regression from the first battle.net.

I personally just hope I can get my hands on this. It's one of the few reasons for having SC2 living in my comp.

13 hours of dialog better be some damn good dialog.
So help me, Oreo if you pull a Metzen I will end you dearly.
