I guess if you follow teamliquid you'll already know about this, but for those of you who don't you might be amused (or informed, if you play a ladder match and suddenly have to deal with immortals from mass gateway).

Blizzard apparently left it in the Warp In ability for the Warp Gate, but it is actually disabled normally as it's not on the Warp Gate's command card. Unfortunately, that's the ONLY way they disabled it. So if you can somehow send a command to the game to do the warp in it'll take it.

Well son of a bitch. THAT'S why Milldawg and I got rushed with 1000 immortals in that one game.

God, battle net, WHY DO YOU HAVE TO DELETE OLD REPLAYS AUTOMATICALLY! I wanted to go find that replay, and get that asshole banned. But it's gone. Ugh.

Personally, I am happy to left it since it pretty much allowed me to implement Dragoons (based on Dark Immortal model) for warping in without odd glitches and such.

However, the abilities and such shouldn't be so sensible that you can just abuse them via some hacks.

The hack also affects the Immortal range upgrade (also seen in the video above) and the Infestor's other spells (which it still has but like the Warp Gate are not visible on the command card)

So you're telling me, professionally, in a pro game, someone can use hotkeys to research these spells even though they're not available on the screen?

As a wild guess, maybe not with the game's hotkeys but perhaps the hack would allow to push a key like a hotkey to trigger the units/researches.

With the way SC2 is made for that aspect, even if you don't have the button, you could for example make it still work by giving the ability order via triggers (as in editor triggers) if the unit's abilities contains that unit/research. I did it successfully before with triggers even if it doesn't look pretty UI-wise.

Thus the hack was likely a method to be able to send those orders to cause them despite having no button.
