Oh, and every time I start the editor, even multiple times a day, I get this;

Having to log in to the editor constantly is a serious, pointless pain in the ass. I mean I'm more than willing to test alpha software for a community developer but NOT for a company who should have put more than a week into making this fucking thing.
Just to be sure, do you mean that you can't stay connected (editor-wise) thus it shows up again to re-log over and over?

Personally, it's less a problem for me since I only log in if I publish anything. I tend to prefer to test as much as possible in "singleplayer" (via Test Document).

I tend to dislike to stay connected especially considering :
1) You show up up as "online" to others if you are logged in for publishing. Nope, you can't chat with people (except possibly if they are a real ID or so) which is lame.
2) Since you can't be online in SC2 and for publishing at the same time, ill probably have re-log again anyway.

It's #2 that annoys me the most. At times, I want to quickly test specific B.net 2.0 differences that cannot be tested over a Test Document in any fashion (ex : Bank triggers on a new patch version).

During my trial time, I had to log in every single time I opened the editor, not matter wether I wanted to publish anything.

Geez and do the trial time is counted during the editor use (which I guess yes if they do force you to log in)?

Ricky > It asks me to log in every time I start the editor.
It's odd since it never ask me to log in when I start the editor, it always just create an empty 256x256 map and that's it.

As for arrays, it's probably the "programmer" type of array that I did explain to you back in WC3 (although I admit it's a concept that can be hard to understand).

Since I don't feel re-explaining it and I kind of already made WC3 tutorial maps about arrays, here's the attachment of the WC3 maps. While it's obviously trigger-wise in this case but the same relative logic applies to the SC2 Data Editor (with the main difference that instead of referring by index, the array "contains" multiple values).

So the exact map to review is 3-5 for arrays. Although 3-4 can be good to remind you for loops (important as prerequisite if you want to poke SC2 catalog triggers at some point) and 3-1 to 3-3 for general trigger variables if your mind is still in the gutter about them.

Ah, ok. In that case, I am willing to explain you to the best of my knowledge the basis. Do note that I abhro the data Editor and prefer to work through xml, so if you are ok with that feel free to find me through IRC or smth. I am often online past 8pm gmt-6

There's only two instances where I've seen the Galaxy Editor ask to connect to Battle.net

1. You have Check for Updates checked on your Preferences (on by default)

2. You're uploading your map to Battle.net

I've never had problems just using it offline when I didn't want it to connect.

I have yet to connect to Battle.net, and I have Check for Updates on, but don't have the account filled in.

People complaining about it always connecting are preferences they set themselves.

so um I was working on my map and went to save, and a bunch of weird random errors, like checksum errors or something, came up. I tried again, same thing. I went to save to a new map name, work. Went ingame, everything I had in the map is destroyed. All 137 megs of my data and everything.

I am not fond of alpha testing your pieces of shit, blizzard.

They're 5mb and 200kb in size. They don't have the data anymore.
