Re: I quit WoW
I'm gonna take a guess and say you have never played arena, much less broke 1600 rating in any bracket. Otherwise, you'll have to be more selective in what Xel is talking about. I think the only thing I disagree with is the death coil comment. For being a "crap move," it sure is a godsend compared to anything, say, the hunter class has.wibod wrote: Hey guys, I'm Xel! Take a look at the warrior class. It's like blizzard thought "Hey, these guys have the highest health and also the highest damage mitigation, so let's also give them ridiculous burst damage and the best focus firing ability in the game." It amazes me that blizzard still hasn't fixed the fact that warriors have access to both MS and deathwish. Let's review warrior talents for a moment.
When you spent your first 35 points to get Mortal Strike, Second Wind (on a completely conceptual point of view, why is this arms and not fury?) and disarm immunity, Blizzard tried to give you two options:
A) Spend 5 points into a talent that increases the damage of one ability by 10% and reduce its cooldown by 1 second
B) Spend 1 point into a talent that increases the damage of every single thing you have by 20% and makes you immune to fear for 6969 years
Choice B turns you into a PvP god. Choice A renders you fucking retarded. That's about as bad as a hunter speccing Imp Arcane shot and Combat Experience. Oh yeah, and none of the 41 point talents seem to provide any real benefit, at least not more than MS and deathwish would. Go figure.
Warlocks, well, as long as you spec Soul Link, you can't go wrong. 15k hp with 500 resilience and more damage mitigation than hunters ought to not be achievable, but it is. Ever heard of "drain tank"?
Rogues have... what again? Oh yeah, blind. I'll be downright amazed if you can show me a rogue whose burst outclasses a warrior or warlock that knows what they're doing. In season one, only druids and hunters were less represented.
It's only gotten worse with patch 2.1, now that trinkets remove ALL CCS. This includes Cyclone and Freezing Trap. In patch 2.2, most CCs will have their duration reduced by 2 seconds. I have no idea what CCs are excluded from the rule, but regardless this will be a huge buff to the bumrush classes with no CCs (Warriors, Shamans, Paladins). But do Warriors and Pallies really need that kind of buff? Meanwhile, Hunters have yet another trap not even worth keeping on their bar while they stack gladiator's and green "of stamina" gear with defense and dodge enchants and dual wield mongoose. Okay, I exaggerate. Bottom line, Hunters end up tanking more often than actually doing their job. What else can you expect out of a ranged class with a deadzone when you stick them in a little BOX with 20 foot tall LoS cock blockers everywhere in sight?

That isn't WoW as much as it is a collection of extreme inanity.

Maybe you should add some more /played days on there before you start acting like you know what you are talking about, also great job destroying your credibility comparing an MMO to an RTS.Xelxiuz wrote: blah blah blah

Xel's not trolling. He actually has facts to back up his claims.wibod wrote: Hey guys, I'm Xel! I fail horribly at trolling and have no idea what I'm talking about!
Xel's played time is virtually almost all PvP. You can ask him anything about it, and he'll be able to give you a pretty solid answer. Ask him anything about PvE and he'll just scratch his head and direct you to me or something.Maybe you should add some more /played days on there before you start acting like you know what you are talking about, also great job destroying your credibility comparing an MMO to an RTS.
He didn't compare an MMO to an RTS. He just said SC2 will blow WoW out of the water. You can deny it all you want, but it sure as hell will. They are definitely two different games, yes, but they're still games. But eventually all SC2 players will return to WoW because WoW is a constantly evolving and changing world. SC2 will feature an expansion and that's it.

Re: I quit WoW
SC2 will end up being something most of them do when they aren't playing WoW and not replacing it and yes he is comparing an MMO to an RTS with that statement because they both have nothing to do with eachother beside coming from the same company.
Half the people on my server that were PvPing made grand marshal in 2 months nothing special coming out of him, obviously he hasn't played enough to see what PvP was like outside of his closed in box called arenas.

Arena doesn't matter. Okay, point taken. That explains why it offers the best PvP awards and tournament prize money.Hunter_Killers wrote:Half the people on my server that were PvPing made grand marshal in 2 months nothing special coming out of him, obviously he hasn't played enough to see what PvP was like outside of his closed in box called arenas.

Re: I quit WoW
I had my fill of WoW PvP by grinding Lt. General in the old system. No way in hell you can convince me to do something as time-consuming as that.
I already decided in competitive games I'm no match for anyone that doesn't have a job. Getting Lt. General WITH a job was one of the hardest things I ever did. I could've hit the rank for General but I was just happy I even got the PvP mount at the time that I just plain stopped.
