Re: A little something I've been slowly working on
So I've been slacking again. However recently i started looking into Blender again, mostly because of the 2.5 alpha.
So here's a whole bunch of renders of the slightly updated model:
HUGE_Renderpic.jpg (1.3 MB)
And a scene i attempted:

Oh and I do this much for the same reasons Mesk models his ships. It's for my own little universe.

Other than my eyes keep looking back at those odd-barreled gatling gun type things, it's a pretty kickass plane.

They do not rotate btw, they just cycle, they can be shot all together but that requires chargin them up.

Re: A little something I've been slowly working on
No, I actually have no idea how to do that.
Update:
Ok finished with the thrusters, attempted another scene thingy, and switched colors to Alliance scheme.

Playing around with texture re-projection
[imgwh 640x480]http://a.imagehost.org/0981/EA_Cygnus_A_01_Cobra.png[/imgwh]
(When looking from the front)
Fighters' carrier ship's name and id are written on the left wingtip, while squadron id, fighter's number in the squadron and callsign are written on the right wingtip.
In this case this fighter is the 01 fighter in the Alpha squadron of EA Cygnus, it's pilot's callsign is Cobra.
Earth Alliance Navy insignia is on both wings.

Here we go at this again.
Sure air force should deal with everything flying rite? No.
Navy has the doctrine to operate ships, thus they operate the space FLEET, and thus it operates the fighters that launch from those ships too.

No. This is a somewhat common misbelief that people tend to have. The term 'Air Force' is used for forces that operate in the air. In the space there's no air, so the term 'Air Force' would be pretty useless here. Instead, the word Fleet stands for a number of warships operating together under one command, while the word Navy stands for all of a nation's warships or a group of ships (basically, a fleet). As such, both of these terms are widely used in science fiction to portray large groups of spaceships instead of the 'Air Force' term, which again, wouldn't make any sense in space. Hope this was useful.1N73RC3P70R wrote: models are great but..why navy? shouldnt it be Earth Alliance Air-Force?Earth Alliance Navy

No. You are wrong, plain and simple. There is nothing to 'disagree' on when factual information is presented to you. What omega20 said is correct. Navy does not dictate water based military. On top of that, multiple games, lore, movies, etc, have used the term 'Navy' in space.1N73RC3P70R wrote: i dont agree fully omega20. i agree that it could be called FLEET but navy...no!! navy are the nation's warships but those that are in the sea.

Re: A little something I've been slowly working on
Then I can't give you an example because I can't quote a game, movie, article, etc to you.1N73RC3P70R wrote:actualy i havent seen (or heard) any use of NAVY in space by any movies and games. and if you know. pls give an example ( dont just quote something cos every1 can do that)!!On top of that, multiple games, lore, movies, etc, have used the term 'Navy' in space.
