Looks like Midway finally got the message

I've been waiting for a classic style Mortal Kombat for a long time. Looks like I'll finally get my wish. So many great memories.... *sniff*

It looks like they came up with some pretty inventive fatalities too.

One cool new feature they added in is the X-Ray moves. Each character now has 1 special move that works essentially in the same manner as Ultra Combos in Street Fighter IV, except these moves cut to a close up, X-Ray view of you opponent as you watch the internal damage they suffer during the combo you are performing on them. This lets you see the bones break, organs burst, muscle fibers stretch and rip, etc. It's kinda like watching a mini fatality during the match. All of the characters have their inerds completely mapped out, too, so each one looks different (Reptile and Sektor look, expectedly, very biologically different from everyone else). Not a particularly unique mechanic, but it looks cool.
