Re: MAFIA: Sanctuary - DAY One
I agree with Krazy that he wouldn't have bashed himself. I think all of us are a little confused on the rules so it's safe to say Krazy was bashed by another player who is a Barbarian.
My guess doesn't completely exclude Milldawg; however, considering how valuable each player was to sign-up, I would think the less experienced ones would have been given more of a chance if he was evil. I don't account Lavarinth to this because Lavarinth knows Dread better than anyone here. Your working relationship wouldn't exclude you from killing him. I feel neutral about Lavarinth at this time.

Re: MAFIA: Sanctuary - DAY One
I know wading through all of Milldawg's text is hard so here is the relevant section. I was going to let people figure it out on their own but screw that. I'll answer any rule questions.Milldawg wrote:NIGHT ACTIONS
Each character class has a unique night action. However, each of the Possessed players has an additional night action, Kill, but only one of them may use it each night, in place of their class ability. The Possessed must decide which of them will use the Kill ability at night, and which will use their class abilities. In all other cases, the Kill ability is treated like any other ability - it can be negated by Decrepify and Holy Shield, and it will show up as a targeting action to Amazons using Inner Sight.

Ok, so IF I am good, and IF a fellow good person bashed me, THEN... what did the second hellspawn do last night?
Nothing?
Nothing?

Re: MAFIA: Sanctuary - DAY One
@Krazy: All comes down to who the second hellspawn is possessing. We've got quite the range of talents in our little group here, and any of them could easily be used for eviiiil.
There are five classes, with nine players there should be two of each class except for one which is unique. Since only Krazy was bashed, and Dread was an Amazon, then it's possible that the Barbarian is one of a kind, or the second Barbarian is possessed and chose to use his night action to murder Dread. Again, not a whole lot to draw on.

Actually, if I recall correctly, there can be any number of each role in the game, from 0-9. For all we know, we could have eight Amazons and one Barbarian, or five Necromancers, two Paladins, one Amazon, and one Barbarian, and so on. So there isn't really a way in my estimation to predict how many of each class exists.Thalraxal wrote: There are five classes, with nine players there should be two of each class except for one which is unique. Rereading Milldawg's initial posting reveals that, yes, this is infact correct. I keep on liking this variant more and more.Saint_Kerrigan wrote:Actually, if I recall correctly, there can be any number of each role in the game, from 0-9. So we probably only have one Barbarian then, since only Krazy got bashed (unless there is a second possessed one who chose to kill instead). I can also confirm that there's at least one Necromancer, since I got Decrepified last night.

What are the facts.
1) That dread is dead
2) There is a barbarian in the game.
We can reasonably assume that Dread was not a possessed.

Thalraxal> Glad you like my variant
Indeed, the rules aren't actually that confusing once you make it through all of them. With so many possible interactions, I had to make the rules post a bit long to cover as many possibilities as I could.
Anyway, to the matter at hand... so you were decrepified, Thal? That's very interesting. I would think a Necromancer would want to keep his abilities to himself on the first night since it would probably do more harm than good, unless he was hoping to get lucky and stop a kill. Or unless he's possessed, of course.
So we know there is (or was) at least one barbarian, amazon, and necromancer. As AiursRage points out, we really don't have that much hard evidence to work with yet. Though little tidbits keep popping up.
As for AA7's assertion that he is not guilty... I'm actually inclined to believe him. It's kind of an interesting characteristic of AA7's, and makes him a lot easier to read, but he really doesn't like killing newer players on the first day. However, I would disagree that Dread is all that new. Two games is not an insignificant amount of playing time for mafia. (Although I guess that doesn't help my own case.)
Well, not a whole lot we can do this DAY except just keep the discussion flowing and keep an eye out for suspicious behavior. Let's make sure no one slips through the cracks - everyone post a lot!!!!!!!!

Re: MAFIA: Sanctuary - DAY One
since there isn't much else to discuss we should consider the little bit we do know. dread was targetted for death, thal by a necromancer, and krazy by a barbarian. 2/3 of those people are from chaos sanc, and while the majority of the game is so that's not at all unlikely, it may be worth some discussion. bash on day 1 is pretty inconsequential and i don't think there is much to be learned from krazy getting bashed. however, thal seems a likely target by a necromancer who's played with him before. dread is also from CS and while most of us haven't played with him enough to know too much about his behavior, especially considering the long periods of inactivity from him last game. while we can't learn anything close to concrete from the target selections, i figured it was worth mentioning considering the general lack of activity so far. i don't know if any of the people who aren't from CS have played with any of you guys before so maybe this is a completely misguided waste of time.
as for aa7, i've voiced my problems with the "i wouldn't do that its mean" defense he's used so many times, but to his credit he has been totally consistent. as for proclaiming milldawg's innocence, i don't really understand that but everything from him so far seems normal. everything except for calling dread "new", i think that's a bit of a stretch but it's not hard for me to believe he considers him new enough i guess.

I still think AA7 just threw an extreme cause of suspicious behavior.

@Lav: If it were anyone else, I'd agree with you. But AA7's proven himself to be quite honourable in regards to this sort of thing. When he says it, I'm inclined to believe him. There's a first time for everything, but I see no reason to doubt AA7 just yet.
@MurderBrawlerOopyMasterManX: I seem to recall Krazy being in some of the previous CC games, not so sure about AuirsRage2k, but neither of them, plus SK, has played with Dread before. I agree with you though: the necromancer is likely someone from Chaos Sanctuary, but he's not necessarily evil. I can't really blame a good-aligned necromancer for wanting to take a chance with Decepifying me.
@Saint Kerrigan: You've been pretty quiet over there. You feeling okay?

Re: MAFIA: Sanctuary - DAY One
I volunteered for games before, but none of them got off the ground due to lack of players.
Since I haven't played with any of you before (having never played a forum mafia game before) I'm going more off my experience in Phantom games. As far as that goes, I'm very suspicious of anyone trying to make friends or defend other people
Right now the only one I *don't* think is a hellspawn is Lavarinth, if only because he's being way too aggressive

Yeah, I'm just adjusting to not being able to use changing votes to apply pressure, not to mention that I left CS in a rather ignoble fashion, and I'm trying to be careful not to imitate the behavior that irritated everyone there.Thalraxal wrote: @Saint Kerrigan: You've been pretty quiet over there. I do like Milldawg's point about a town Necromancer likely wanting to not perform his action, as a misplaced Decrepify could have serious ramifications against the town. I'm not sure what Lav's referring to with AA7 throwing out and extreme cause of suspicious behavior. Perhaps he'd be willing to clarify that?
@ Krazy: Why does Lav's aggression clear him in your eyes?

Really? You don't see it? His first post was proclaiming Milldawg, only Milldawg mind you, innocent. Plus himself, of course. When no one else had done more or less than Milldawg to proclaim innocence or guilt. Why would he have a heart for Milldawg only.
