Guy built Sim City with 6 million population
He has literally built a city larger and more efficient than most real ones in population. Win.

Wow. That's impressive. I could never get my cities to grow past 14,000 back in SimCity 2000.

Doesn't that also mean that the people would be relying solely on the subways for transportation and postal service?

They couldn't even leave their own house, it seems.

If so, damn it would be a total pain to sleep at home considering night workers that would need the train. The noise would be too awful.Krazy wrote:They wouldn't have to, the train would run through their basement.

The Americas need to put some serious consideration into taking this route and overhaul everything to meet its specifications.

If I were some semi-famous sci-fi author, I'd probably use this for my next book.Krazy wrote:Ricky_Honejasi wrote:If so, damn it would be a total pain to sleep at home considering night workers that would need the train. Absolutely. There are no parks anywhere, no natural spaces. People would kill themselves. No one would sleep. No cars means no trucks means EVERYTHING goes on trains: food supplies, waste disposal, shopping for anything (not that you'd need anything big, since you'd be living in a small box). That city is Hell through Utilitarianism if you actually imagine anyone living there.

Re: Guy built Sim City with 6 million population
This reminds me of a dude on Spacebattles.com forums that liked to design insanely huge ships and insisted cities were on them, to scale the cities were so big, the buildings so huge and the spaces so wast that every single individual would develop a phobia of limitless spaces and just cower int the corner wishing they weren't born. Now that's life eh.

I actually liked the Caesar/Middle Kingdom series of city building games since it required a certain level of citizen happiness which meant building parks, entertainment, and so on. The funniest part were the problems that would crop up like occasional muggers and burglars.
