Windows 7

Post by Cliff747 »

I don't know if this is the right place but you can move it as necessary.

I have a new computer with windows 7 installed.
I'm running an AMD dual core at 2.7 gigs with an on board GeForce 6150SE nForce 430.
I can't run version 16.1 because the colors run wild. I'm using 15.2 and the colors just flash as the desktop wallpaper changes.
With my old XP computer StarCraft would lockup when it had too much to do but would come back to normal when it caught up.
With my new computer StarCraft will completely lockup the computer and I have to turn it off and reboot.
Is there anything I can do to stop this?

The color issues is a well known issue with XP and above, the only real sad fix is to Alt+Tab constantly until it sorts itself out, to my knowledge. It has to do a lot with applications running in the background. For example, and AIM notification message that appears on the bottom right of the screen and cause the colors to distort. I've been able to avoid this on Windows 7 by running only necessary applications when running StarCraft in most cases, however occasionally the water will distort and have a rainbow effect.

Just leave the screen resolution dialog open in the background and tab back into starcraft.

I'm having the same problem. Recently I installed Windows 7 thinking it was going to be awesome and all. Then I installed Starcraft and all of the colors were messed up. I tried alt+tab constantly and I got nothing. I've also been looking around for solutions, and sadly, I can't find any. I've also tried the screen resolution thing. It does not work at all. I can include a screenshot once I get a picture of it.

I find it ironic however that when I logged on to make a topic about this, there was already a topic in place. :D lol

Help is greatly appreciated. I don't think I could cut myself off from Starcraft long enough to wait for Starcraft 2 to come out. :p lol

That's what mine looks like. It's the main menu so far, but it's like that throughout the entire game.

The other solution is to kill the explorer process and then restart it after you're done playing.

yeah, this happens with me sometimes and it is due to background stuff. I just carry on playing with the weird color.
