Summary from SlashdotVerizon has changed their FiOS AUP effective yesterday, and added an interesting new clause to their specific examples that we're all familiar with: "it is a violation of the Agreement and this AUP to ... post off-topic information on message boards, chat rooms or social networking sites."

It does look pretty stupid but in all likelihood, I think it's to prevent themselves from being sued for some Internet troll's actions. A few ISPs and Google got hit with some frivolous lawsuits this way because someone using their services engaged in borderline slander, so this is a way to avoid bullshit liability thanks to the number of judges (and jurors) who understand very little about the Intertubes.
