[Graphic] Projectile Editing

Post by Death_Wing »

Hi, I'm new around here and with modding. (just something to let you know I'm incredibly dum  :P)

Anyway, I'm making my first mod, nothing fancy, just gonna edit the Screens and also the um.... glue? (the campaign guys that float, ya know?) The music (TechnoEjay) and some of the graphics.

Anyway I was editing the DragBall (guess!) and made it an awesome red/pink. I used photoshop7 and after about 4 hours I figured out how to actually save the thing. So I did all the things and added it to my mod, YAY! But I ran into a problem, I have looked around and haven\t seen it really. My projectiles were a diff color(No big that looked cooler anyway) and I know about the (265?) color limit but have failed to find a list of coding, well my dam "bullets" have their own lil grey backrounds when fired..... WTF!? Could someone point me to something I could use so I don't get this problem or jus help me out... please, thanks

A list of coding...? Okay, you've really, really confused me.

Photoshop isn't the best for dealing with Starcraft graphics in post-production because it's annoying to deal with its palette editor. I use paint shop pro and use shift+O and load the starcraft palette file. I can make the palettes available if you need them.

The background should always be 0,0,0 to be transparent. Many photoshop filters contain a "brightness" setting that will actually brighten the existing 0,0,0 background into other indexes and this can cause a lot of problems. The easiest way to fix it would be to use a color replacer, script it, and run that through your frames.

Ok i'll get Paint Shop Pro, since everyone is using it for SC...  :-\
I was using PS7 cause I have many friends that can tell me ALOT on it. But what I did do is load a whole bunch of units and jus wrote down the color codes (?/?/?).

But please, if you could give me the SC palette I would greatly appreciate it. The other one I Dled was broken I think... :'(

Anyway thanks I'll get PsP(rofl) asap. ;D

I)eath_Wing , Thanks for reply :)
PS: What vers of PsP is best?

Any version of psp above 7 should work, I think.

You'll want to use the ones under Jasc, and probably want to use Unit or Basic or whatever it's called.

Thanks a bunch, works perfectly.... :P
Can't believe I was using a program that had a 10% chance to actually open the files nevermind edit them!  >:(
Thanks again! ;D
