Don't get too confident. Blizzard is really good at dashing hopes and dreams across the shores of despair and misery.

They are also really good at crafting them in the first place.

Building and destroying our hopes, THAT IS!
Ha ha. Vengeful.
Edit:
Seriously, though, Starcraft 2 is a lie meticulously crafted by the government to keep us all from going out and do stuff with our lives. Because if were to take control of our own petty lives, we'd be a bunch of bad-ass, womanizing motherfuckers!

Very cool vid. Thanks for posting!Aiursrage2k wrote: BlizzCon 2009 2v2 StarCraft 2 Exhibition Match
Man, at times I can't wait to play this game because it looks and sounds so very amazing. What puts me off everytime though is Blizzard's pseudo-updates. I mean, all these interviews, all these beautifully constructed videos... Shouldn't you guys be making Starcraft 2? Just tell us what needs to be done, instead of giving sneak previews.

Blizzard's just trying to play catch-up with EA and Relic, who also produce crappy videos and pseudo-updates. If they didn't, people would whine about that instead. It's a hate-hate situation.

Do you really think Blizzard's entire SC2 staff stops working on SC2 in order to make these updates? That's what PR people are for.Legion wrote: Man, at times I can't wait to play this game because it looks and sounds so very amazing. What puts me off everytime though is Blizzard's pseudo-updates. Re: StarCraft II Official! (Pictures)
I was expecting somebody to say this to me. However, all I see is a lot of PR stuff. In, what, 3 years now? And SOMETIMES, just sometimes, the PR staff release information about what the staffers are doing. I think by giving us so many of these so-called updates, Blizzard is just raising their own bar time and again. Really, how can you live up to so much hype/procrastination?Hercanic wrote:Do you really think Blizzard's entire SC2 staff stops working on SC2 in order to make these updates? At the end of the day, this'll just be another videogame. It won't be more than that. The number of updates is disproportionate to the end product, in any case.
Not really. I love Blizz and what they do, but they're a company and they have problems too. I think one of them is announcing their wonderful games a tad early. Back when they didn't, each game was more of a surprise. Now, if and when SC2 hits (because I am still expecting it to either get canceled or at least postponed a couple of times again), it'll be more like "FINALLY!" than "YAY! LOOK WHAT BLIZZ JUST MADE!" and I think that's never good for any company.IskatuMesk wrote: Blizzard's just trying to play catch-up with EA and Relic, who also produce crappy videos and pseudo-updates. I vote for less epicness and faster release. Diablo 1 still owns any RPG out there. Sure, it may not have speed-of-light connection or branching storylines but who cares. I'm not expecting a literary miracle or artificial wonder. I'm expecting a fun time with a videogame and Blizzard hasn't been satisfying that need for a great many people for too long. Past decade it's all been Warcraft. Trying to keep your Starcraft and Diablo fanbase on a leash with these pseudo-updates is getting old.
Like I said, I don't hate Blizzard and though this may look like whining, I don't mean to. I'm just stating that Starcraft 2 is in development hell and the end product will have to be really great in order to justify that. Knowing Blizz, it probably will be.
... But what if it isn't ...
