Proof? I've walked through the development team's office.
Sorry for the late reply. Was away for the weekend.
The lead designer for StarCraft II is Dustin Browder.[25]

The team devoted to StarCraft II consists of only about 40 developers,[22] including twelve people who worked on the original StarCraft.[45] The team consists of four or five managers, 12-14 programmers, 8-10 artists and the rest consist of designers. It has its own internal leadership structure.[46] A "couple" of ex-progamers are part of the team, working on balance issues such as mutalisk micromanagement[20] and creating strategies against each other.[29]
Quote is from the SC wiki. Link:
http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Starcraft_2#Developers

It might not be 40 anymore, but the last public source of the development team that the wiki has been able to get its hands on suggests it is. Those sources are from around when SC2 was announced, though, so its quite likely that they have brought on many more people and Lav is right. Who knows?  :-\

I got a feeling we should trust Lavvz, who has actually been there recently, over the wiki which is open for any edit by anyone.

Haha, release date for the battle report.  That's kind of funny.  ;)

I WANNA RANT, RANT!!!

http://www.blizzplanet.com/blog/comments/the_new_voice_of_kerrigan/

Now, on to a simple question, which I'll speak in a smooth, sweet voice so it won't bother people around here....

WTF BLIZZARD THINKS THEY'RE DOING?

This is absolute disgrace, total f***ing disgrace!  How dare they put something so.... MEDIOCRE... to voice one of the most badass villains ever?  I'm dissapointed, utterly and doackingly!  Oh, Blizzard, if you can't simply bring back old Glynny back to work, I don't see a reason why you're working on SC 2, for God's Iron Balls sakes!

No seriously, you take a look at this, even your years will be offended!!!  It's on the ending.  Now, to you blizzard guys, seriously, if you could bring back Clothworthy to redo Jimmy again, you should (and I emphazise, MUST) bring back Talken to do Kerrigan!  She can overcome this b**** Karen Strassman a f****ng thousand times over!

No, just ruined my day...  No, I wanna cry...  I wanna piss on their graves.  Christ, not even EA, or even Sega, dammit, could do that kind of shit!

She sounds okay at the end of her demo reel (http://www.karenstrassman.com/audio/videogames.mp3).  Furthermore, miss Talken Campbell was good, but I was never over the moon about Kerrigan's voice anyway, so if they're making a change there I welcome it.  I liked Kerrigan's voice in Starcraft but it's not up there with for instance Raynor.  Besides, it's their product.  You don't HAVE to buy it if you feel that strongly about it.

It's good to hear you loved the original works so much, but please refrain from saying things like "I wanna piss on their graves" or calling a voice actress you've never even heard of a bitch.  As far as I'm concerned, these people are doing their jobs.  Ranting is okay, but you should always be aware of the fact that for some people there's a very thin line between ranting and being just plain rude.  You appear to be such a person, so proof-read your posts before you post 'em or don't post at all.

I'll laugh if she's actually the voice of the Doctor, who plays a near-lead role.

Karune hinted she 'just auditioned' for it.

Also!
On a side note, going along with the Galaxy Map Editor can do anything trend, I hear it may even be able to create a third person shooter style custom game smile Anyone miss those StarCraft paintball games? Our devs internally have already tried out some pretty clever side projects that have been quite successful.

Man, that IS some great news!  I hope it's just change of camera positions, though, instead of having to texturize every fucking wall. :D

Plenty of third person shooters already exist for wc3, so yeah. Pretty much all of them are terrible though.

Multiplayer lag doesn't help the case of those. .1-.4 second delay can be annoying enough when you simply tell a unit which position to move to or what unit to attack, but it makes arrow-key style movement painful. With Blizzard deciding to annihilate LAN, and with it online LAN-emulation utilities (listcheckers), they damn well better do something about the unavoidable latency floor (I've heard it's .1 sec for War3 LAN and .25 sec for Battle.net).

Ha ha, that would be pwnage. Although, I'm worried that she sounds like a potential victim of this trope, which writers seem to love but I absolutely hate. >:(

I asked editor questions to the development leads in person.

Wait, I didn't just say that.

No, you wont get more info soon.

What?
