I have a bad feeling it's going to be something different like the DungeonSiege movie which will again star Ray Liotta as Kel'Thuzad.

Sam Raimi != Uwe Boll.
Oh really?

Sorry, Uwe Boll has no equal.  And I don't mean that in a good way.

They've got the money, they've got the potential audience, and fantasy has been in for a number of years now thanks to Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. When a film is done well, you can see the difference in returns (the new Batman movies, for instance). I think they have every motivation to get this movie right, and the assets to make it happen. I look forward to seeing the trailers, before making any further judgments.

I think it depends heavily on them getting the writers of the books (not the comic books) or the original creators of a lot of the lore onboard directly on the project (and not just as consultants).  Otherwise, it's going to be a lifting of the cinematics with little relation to the Warcraft universe which might not be a bad thing however, just not something WCIII or WoW fans will relate to.

Maglok is correct.  The Director may have the power, but the Executive Producer has the final say in everything.

Yes, but what directing experience does Metzen have that he would have a final say in directing?

With Metzen, we are guaranteed that the story will be good, but the director will determine how such a story will be portrayed. Though Metzen is involved, we're guaranteed nothing.

If the director wants to do something that Metzen disapproves of, Metzen can say "no" and that's final.

But if Metzen wants to portray a scene in a specific way and is very adamant about without the experience of directing, if the director says it's a fail scene, he can still go on with the scene.

I'm still old school and think it really hinges on the screenplay.  You can give a shit script to a great director and the movie will still turn out mediocre at best but you give a shit director the best script and the movie will turn out mediocre at least.

Drums of War you are not mistaken.  So long as the screenplay has two elements (good dialogue and good story), it is very difficult for even a layman first time wet behind the ears director to muck it up.
You haven't lived until you've edited 5,000 recorded .mp3's of dialogue!

Both of which Metzen is known to fuck up.

How many retard bad guys in WoW call their boss "the Master" now? I mean, seriously... the dialogue in WoW just gets worse the further it gets from Warcraft 3.

You do realise Metzen is not a writer on WoW, he's like a creative director. He designs the general storyline, what they exactly say is not something he does on WoW. If you want to know though, he wrote an e-book.
