stop making new threads, for fucks sake. We have a main SC2 thread for a reason, that one deserves a sticky. :P

BUT OMG REAVERS! WARBRINGER LIVES.

Also, the twighlight archon was already shown. It just wasn't clear what it was.

not enough, look how barren it is when the Soul Hunters are owning it up. It looks more like a savannah or something. but then again, normal SC jungle wasn't all foresty too.

I like the models and the art, but it looks like a bunch of test maps someone threw together in a couple minutes.

...which just made me realize that's probably what it is.
Hello, mother leopard.
I have your cub.
You must protect her,
But that will be expensive...
10,000 kola nuts,
Wrapped in brown paper...
Midnight, behind the box
I'll be the hyena, you'll see.

well, yea, you would generally do that in game development, a few dev levels are needed to internal testing, and they don't always need to be pretty :)

Been thinking about carriers...if its anything like the WC3 spell system (and im sure its even better for SC2) then we can finally make marines carriers that shoot our wraith that fire scourge. BUAHAHAHA.

It'd be badass if Twilight Archons were the result of a High and Dark Templar fusion...

Not sure I'm liking the shift to gray on the Protoss. In Starcraft, each race had a very pronounced undercolor. Terran were gray, Zerg were brown, and the Protoss were gold. The Dark Templar gray is just too much like the Terran gray.

Also, in the scene with the Reaver, some kind of field is activated over a bunker. Could that be the High Templar's new shield trap ability akin to Stasis Field but usable on buildings and terrain?

Not sure I dig the Soul Hunters. They seem like a direct Reaper counterpart, rather than the Stalkers filling such a role. If they don't act like Reapers, then I wonder what role they could possibly fill. Some kind of beam weapon, but anything special about it? So many questions...damn Blizzard tantilizing us like this...

(copy of my post at SAMods)

Soul Hunter attack mechanic: It does not appear to function the same way as the Warp Ray. The two attacking the Refinery had the same small, weak beam the entire time, and several of them began with an extra green glow and had a stronger attack. It may be related to previous kills by the unit, hence the name (there were some blood spots from Marines as the video began). This would make it dangerous to cannon fodder (Zerglings) or when attacking workers.

Edit: Watch the ones that get attacked by infantry on the top. Of the two on top that survive until the end of the video segment, the one on the right gets an attack boost at the end; the green glow appears after the Reaper it appears to be attacking explodes.

Interesting.  So the Soul Hunters gain extra damage for every kill they make.  Cool except they die so easily.

Anyone else notice how quickly the Tempests explode?  They better be cheap to produce if they're going to lack the staying power of Carriers.
I have seen the Desler.  I have tasted of his milk and honey.

I'm wondering if the soul hunter's extra damage is a permanent thing or a temporary thing though. Once you get up to the next damage tier, would it wear off if you stopped attacking. I'm not really sure which I'd prefer.

I'd actually prefer if we started getting Protoss units with different attacks. No more laser beams, please.  >:(

Oh, btw, www.sclegacy.com has a high res version of the video, check the frontpage. Ashworld looks absolutely awesome, maybe Lavarinth could even ressurrect the old Ashworld's Lava site. Veterans will know what I'm taking about... ;D

He has legs, but he's still floating. Watch him move southwards. He's hovering down there, and there's a glow beneath him.

edit - The high def video shows he DOES have little stilt legs. He looks absolutely hilarious and out of place.
