What are those pink, bubble buildings?
I have seen the Desler.  I have tasted of his milk and honey.

Now THIS is interesting: http://starcraft.incgamers.com/blog/comments/chinese-blizzard-fansite-summit-update-map-editor-confirmed/

I quote:
1. Beta will include map editor, this is for sure, but we don't know if the editor has some limitation to it.
Among other stuff. Go go go.

I've hit my peak on excitement long ago Maglok, its impossible for me to be any more excited about SC2.  What could they do that would make me more excited?  Nothing.  I have reached 100 percent.

They could suddenly announce a .scm/.scx import feature.

Just saw that on TL.

If this source is credible, AI in beta is something unheard of and is really exciting, at least for me. It means I'll get the opportunity to criticize the hell out of their AI with a somewhat legitimate hope that someone will actually listen. But most importantly, the editor and AI in beta will allow me to deconstruct the game and figure out how the AI actually works before release.

What I'm worried about is the emphasis on RPG mapping and other stuff and not actual modding.

The hardware requirements are admirably low, but remember, wc3 generally demands twice if not three times its recommended specs to run custom maps any decently, sc2 will probably be similar - ESPECIALLY if physics can be used in a server-side manner.

/edit

Apparently there's a bunch of sources saying that the specs/the chinese news thing are fake.

/edit 2

Okay there's just arguing on the specs. I think the actual news thing is real.

*waits for the animations to load* >.o

On the other hand, the Zerg as a whole definitely look much better now; less bright and cheery, more grim and freaky.  Even hot pink looked kinda good on them. >>

Gibby and burny enough for you Mesk?  ;) I can see you making good use of models tweaked so that they're always on fire.

Notice the new corruptor model in the first picture of the second post? Looks kind of like some lurker/triceratops/bacteriophage, and seems more "organized" than the original irregular blob.

Hecks, I think "phage" would be a good alternative name for either the infestor or corruptor, if not for the fact that it would be mispronounced both accidentally and intentionally  ::)

Depends if they include a model importer or not. They didn't with wc3 so chances are we'll be stuck with shitty third party crap just like wc3.

A small note that the article released earlier today is, in fact, not official and nothing has been confirmed in that article.
