Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

Post by Hercanic »

"Seven years passed since Japan lost the war against the Britannia Empire and became its territory. The country name was stripped away and renamed to Area 11."

The Day a New Demon Was Born(Eng Dub)

Watch the entire first season on YouTube. It's English dubbed, though, whose acting can be corny or downright annoying at times. You can find the entire second season, in Japanese with subtitles, here on AnimeMedia. It was great and interesting enough to keep me enthralled, watching nonstop for several days to the series' conclusion. I finally know where Desler's old animated sig came from, too.

I'd watch it, but they don't have a british English dubb (I'm a realist when it comes to certain things. I can't help it).

Season 2  was a lot less interpersonal and just focused mostly on making everything 'epic'.  Frankly, I was expecting a much more complicated story behind the Geass.  Instead, it just looked rush.

YouTube has both the English Dub and the original Japanese Audio (with English subs) versions, by the way.

I like Code Geass.  I'm still watching through the second season.  I sort of agree that it's not as intriguing as the first season, but I still think it's great.

It looked rush because it probably was rushed. Some sources indicate executive meddling took place at around episode 18, and it should be apparent in some areas. They had a whole storyline planned out for the Knight of One that was just...abandoned. I can't talk about much else as it would constitute spoilers.

But anyway. Season 2 had its moments, but it definitely wasn't that great.

That's a shame.  I'm at around where the Knight of One just shows up... I was hoping to see some more details about him.

Cursed meddling~!

Season 2 being fail might be related to the fact that Sunrise focused more onto Gundam 00 as it is the most prominent franchise that they have. Speakign of which Gundam 00 pwns.

I remember when Code Geass R2 was supposed to come out in like 2007, and then Gundam 00 juked the timeslot at the last second.

I tried watching the first episode of Gundam 00...and I fell asleep. So boring.

Eh, gundam 00 was ok but it takes quite a few episodes for it to many any sense or gain any steam.

Was too busy watching Macross Frontier to bother paying attention to Code Geass' second season. :P  And while I agree that Gundam 00 was pretty good, it wasn't exactly total pwnage.  Either season 1 was too one sided for a good portion, or season two dropped the ball after 00 Gundam gained the 0 Raiser.
Crap, dung, and everything that stands alone...
