I'm currently in the North District with Kurumi (as the title says). But somehow I can't go farther than the friendly murloc-base on the right and the Dragon Slayers on the left (ergo the first island of the map). Are the friendly murlocs supposed to work as allies? They are marked as "friendly" but not "controllable". And the mid-path is blocked by the barriers . Can somebody help me?
From where the first Dragon Slayer base was, Summon Kurumi's Chaos Sentinel on the other side of river. There's a shipyard that you can have it hire a transport ship from just to the left of the second Dragon Slayer base (the one across the river, not the first one that you presumably just trashed.)
Happy Mur'gul Hunting!

Mass Mur'gul genocide is pretty tedious. I don't know if you get anything for killing everything, but the goal is at the altar. And yes she's pretty much the only hero here.

i) from the start, head to the left side of the first island to the Goblin Shipyard (destroying the first Mur'Gul base is optional)
ii) hire a boat, load Kurumi into it, then drop her off on the next island northwards (again, another Mur'Gul base)
iii) just keep going northwards until you reach the shallow shore, then take the route to the right (fighting Mur'Gul along the way)
iv) keep going right (encountering more Mur'Gul) until you reach a side-ways "T" path, then go south
v) you will find another Mur'Gul base. ignore it if you want and head left until you come across the middle-path
vi) from there, go south until you reach the end of the path (destroying Tidal Guardians and Mur'Gul whenever necessary)
vii) look to left and you should see a ramp leading up to higher ground. go up that, fighting whatever enemies you come across
viii) at the top, you will encounter a Demoness. Kill her and her lackeys, then attack the switch and follow the mid-path north to the altar (keep in mind: Tidal Guardians and any Mur'Gul stragglers)
At least that's how I went about it. The Murlocs at the south-eastern corer are indeed allied to you, but they won't be lending any help even if you wanted them to.
Remember, destroying Mur'Gul bases is optional.
