Bug in Book 5 Legacy of the wizard

Hello RCX,

I'm sort of stuck in book 5 Legacy of the wizard:
When you play as the Panda Knight in order to keep the stats of the hero you have to refuse Hokutos help but this results in the trees still standing down in the entrance to the trap and spider lair.
Hikaru and Miranda have no possibility to clear these trees. The alternative is to accept Hokutos help and loose your stats you have added up via tomes.
Can you help me on this matter?. Is it supposed to be like this (always accepting Hokutos help then means you have no way to develop Hikaru and Miranda via tomes)?

Every version of Hikaru's class other than the Panda Knight has an ability that clears trees:

Flying Guillotine
Firewall
Rain of Blades

Use one of those instead.
