THE THING - GAME TWO is FINISHED
The game will start once we have 8 people. They're first come first serve so PM me two roles in case the first one is taken.
The game will be played the same as before but with some rule changes noted in the last game which you can check out here. Combat initiative will be done with rolls if two people do attacks on the same day.
One important change is that if you go outside, you can PRIVATE MESSAGE your actions instead of posting them publicly.
The complete ruleset is here.
Like before, there's still no vital items besides having to make the test tube, fix the radio, and start up the chopper. The Thing can now destroy ANY of those items however (including wreck the chopper down to 0 HP so it takes time to repair it.)
I've added one rule change, which is that you cannot auto flee from the Thing in combat if it's trying to infect you. (You can still auto flee if it's trying to kill you outright.)

The game will start tomorrow morning to give anyone one last chance to sign up. The rule changes I posted in the first post are the ones we'll be using, so again, there are no more special vital items.
There is one change I just made which is that human players cannot flee from the Thing if it's trying to infect them. (You can still auto-flee in combat if the Thing is just trying to kill you.)
Be sure to check out the first game to get an idea of how to play if you're new. (Some rules were changed obviously.)

I looked at the rules and the first game, but there are still a few things I don't understand:
a. Is the player who is the Thing chosen randomly and PM'd at the beginning of the game?
b. Can there be more than one Thing? If the Thing infects a player, does the original Thing still keep playing with the new Thing, or does the original Thing die?
c. Is there an unlimited supply of items to find; and what does the DC# mean after each item?
d. At what level does Paranoia keep a player from doing anything?

The cold biting Antarctic wind slides across the dark landscape of the forgotten continent as the sun withdraws itself behind the horizon. Sub-zero temperatures plummet even further and what was once freezing now feels the icy grip of death...and something even more sinister.
In the American science station, it's another quiet boring day as Lavarinth drinks himself into another stupor. Suddenly, the whipping of helicopter blades and gunshots in the distance breaks the icy calm. Everyone rushes to the window to see a lone dog running across the ice from a helicopter with Norwegian markings and two men, one of whom is firing at the fleeing dog. When you all go outside to intercept the landing chopper and the terrified dog, the Norwegian goes berserk and opens fire.
Tramau catches a bullet in the leg, losing 2 HP, but quickly, Flyinghat unholsters his sidearm and kills the Norwegian. Just as suddenly, the helicopter explodes in a gigantic ball of flame, probably the result of a hand grenade.
While Thalraxal helps Tramau into the infirmary so he can bandage him up, Mucky locks up the stray dog with the rest of his German shepherds in the dog pen.
Unbenownst to everyone, the dog was actually...THE THING, an ancient shapeshifting alien bent on killing and infecting all living matter in its path and the dead Norwegian, one of the few who knew this deadly secret. During the night, someone has become infected by the dog and has become...THE THING!
The first day has begun...
