Re: My 10 Year Anniversary with Campaign Creations
When I joined as staff, I pushed to convert the site to a CMS. During this time, we were hosted freely and unquestioned by Racknine, I believe. Three people downloaded the entire site to keep back ups during the creation of CMS, which soared up our bandwidth to well over five gigs in a matter of days, causing a no questions, no informing shut down of our account. E-mails were left unresponded, even at the offer to pay. We moved it over to Dreamhost and I offered to pay for hosting. Uploaded everything, and made only a forum. War`Giant, administrator at the time, wanted to make it a forum atmosphere. I was his second-in-command, as he used to be mine back when we ran Ashworld's Lava, Alkali Studios, and GameProc. Eventually, he just vanished, leaving us with not much to go on, and I took over and placed the front page construction, as I wasn't fond of the "forum only" approach, and neither was some staff. Eventually, I had Joel produce a layout design, and through my blood, sweat, and tears managed to produce a CMS and HTML for the site, after like eight tries from scratch, and months of learning things I didn't know. I believe I launched the forum's theme first, since it was much faster to produce, and then launched the site's soon after. And that's how it's been since.
Although.. Don't think it's just on hold. Working on many other things at the moment.

Giving it up was the hardest thing I had to do, but it would shrivel and die had I kept it, I just had no time at all. :|
Glad to see it ended up in capable hands!

I've joined like a month after RCX released Vision of the Future. Around 10 years, I guess.
We've been waiting quite some time for SC2, I'd say: I'm guessing a lot of you guys have already planned campaigns for it?

By the time SC2 actually releases I reckon I'll be tired of it already. Hype kills stuff :|
And oddly enough, I have no plans to make any project for SC2. Don't see the point ;P

You can make an UMS map where you kill everyone at work. I'm sure it'll go over great.

I just wanted to say I really like the work Lavarinth's been doing here. I didn't know it was him keeping everything running behind all the scenes.

Well, now that I look... it does say Administrator under your name, but I meant, not just the moderating and stuff but layouts and things like that too.

Joel designed the look of the main site, I hacked up his layout for the forum, haha.

lol
Warcraft 3 kinda rocked everything, and it wasn't really that 'loud' in advertisement for me. I found out about it through a Starcraft Blizzard product catalog and I thought "Hey kool".
Catalogue... where have I read that before?
ACK ACK!

Re: My 10 Year Anniversary with Campaign Creations
I visited CC to download SC campaigns for 3-4 months, not even knowing what the "forums" were. Then, when Hercanic started looking for STF beta testers (whenever this was), and I was accepted as one, I signed up for the forums and started getting involved in the community. I remember lying and saying I was 18 even though I was in 7th grade at the time. When the STF site was up and running, I remember finding some terribly embarrassing Battle Reports that I wrote from back then.
The thing that really got me to be really involved in the community was randomly, on TPCnet, DoW was sticking up for me in some sort of argument I had with another guy, saying I was a "veteran" on the server. I'm not sure about the specifics, but that was when I really felt like a part of CC.
