Lich King unleashed a plague last Tuesday on the live servers. It wasn't that big of a dealthen, but five days later it became a major pain in the ass.

At the start of the event it took 10 minutes for the disease to turn you into a Zombie... but now it only takes 30 seconds. Zombies can attack anyone and anything, and just attacking someone puts the disease on them.

Low level players generally cannot do anything to prevent getting killed by the Zombies. Higher level players either are purposefully spreading the disease or hunting down the Zombies.

On the plus side I think the majority of my server became fed up with the Zombies because most of them are getting iced now.

the only problem is in Shattrath you can't attack the Zombies at all, and they can attack you.

Yeah, the zombies were totally awesome on the first day.  I ended up in a Zombie Raid and attacked Sentinel Hill and Goldshire.  With the Headless Horseman still around, the whole "Burning Goldshire" provided the perfect ambiance for the whole thing.

Overall though, I still like the idea, except in Shattrath where you can't attack the Player-Zombies.  They keep on exploding in the banks or at the flight master and infecting everyone and you can't do a dang thing about it.  At this point, I just stay in the air if I need to visit Shattrath.

I love how the plague has become more deadly each day.  That's cool.  And with the return of the Scourge Invasion, I've finally gotten that Argent Dawn Tabard I always wanted. ;D

What was the event? Some beta closing thing or a real event?

Refer to HKS's pictures, that's all that really needs to be said.

It was part of the Pre-wrath World Event.  Like RCX said, the Lich King unleashed another Plague of Undeath on the Azeroth.  Players could be infected and turn into zombies or get cured by an Argent Healer before they turned.  Zombies were in a faction of their own, hostile to both player factions and could only speak in Zombie.  Which meant that Horde and Alliance zombies were actually on the same side, which was kinda neat.  As the days went by, the plague became more and more powerful, with the infection time being reduced and fewer Argent Healers in the cities.  Naturally, many of the players started zombie raids and went on a ramapage.  Others were really annoying and infected everyone in Shattrath.  Overall it was a pretty cool event though.

I am curious to what is next in the Scourge Invasion. I was kinda wishing instead of zombies we would be Abominations or something more fun.  :'(
