There's too perspectives to look at things. We can either abstain as our people slowly dwindle down, and hope our Arbiters can carefully protect others, revealing who is innocent, or we can pick off a few of us for the "betterness" in hopes we pick off the Dark Templar. I, however, would have to go with the prior, due to old customs.

yeah it depends on what information we have available

the whole thing with lynching later on is that we should have a few clues as to who the dark templar are; but unless any clues appear today it would seem strange to vote to kill with no evidence :(

Right, because we only have a 30% chance of lynching the correct person.  And obviously, a 70% chance of killing someone potentially useful.  Frankly, the odds are in the Dark Templar's favor.

I think it's a good policy to abstain the first day, giving our Observers (assuming they live) more time to gather helpful clues.  Acting rashly, we might just cut one of our investigators down... as our brethren in Eridun did.  (That was the second day, but I think that's a good point to consider nonetheless.)

It's easily said that I'm too cautious, but does anyone have a good argument in favor of lynching today?

No argument in favor has been presented that hasn't already been refuted by the arguments not in favor, made here and back on Eridun. I am in agreement, but I'm still going to hold my vote a while longer because I don't want to commit too early.

RULES QUESTION: Hey Mill!  If the Arbiter uses its Khaydarin Core and successfully protects someone from the Dark Templar, does the person who was attacked know that he was protected and saved, or does he just go about his nightly business like nothing happened?

@Aek: While Dark Templar Thalraxal, Destroyer of Eridun, would have agreed with you completely, I'm not.  Caution generally favours the Dark Templar.  We're giving up a chance to kill one of them, and letting them get away with a chance to kill up to two of us the next night.  We have got to try and kill one of  those Dark Templar ASAP and make them lose that 2-kill advantage, and we're not going to be able to do that standing around like sheeps to the slaughter.

Of course, I will admit it's not going to be easy to find one of them at this point in time and I would rather lynch no one than an innocent.  Unless one of them slips up or an Observer got lucky last night we really don't have any leads.  It's hard to draw a pattern from their targets.  AA7 is a pretty logical choice, he did figure out who  two of the three of the Dark Templar were, even if he did spearhead the tragic demise of Eridun's Observer Lavarinth.  Frozty's kinda random, he stayed under the rader but he did successfully avoid lynching anyone innocent, and helped to lynch Dark Templar Shadowflare, Destroyer of Eridun.

I'd rather lynch no one than an innocent, but I refuse to sit by and allow the Dark Templar to kill two more of us after the sunsets!

I just have no suspects right now. :(  Anyone got any ideas?

Alright, so no lynch.  If we all vote no lynch we can get it over with and get to the next round without waiting for Tuesday.  I guess there's the chance if we did that then someone could try to steal a last minute lynch vote.  But if they did that they'd be dead in the water next round.

So, I vote no lynch.

THAL> If the arbiter uses the Khaydarin Core and someone the arbiter cloaked gets targeted by the Dark Templar, the targeted person will never know about it. Only the Dark Templar and High Templar will know (the Dark Templar because they'll notice their hit didn't succeed, and the High Templar because that's what the High Templar does).

Wouldn't the Arbiter know as well, given that they know who they're protecting? Probably obvious, though.

It seems like it might be useful to investigate the archives of Eridun to examine the behavior of the three confirmed dark templar there to look for similarity in tone.

Also BOLD NO LYNCH BOLD

I don't like this.  We're basically handing the Dark Templar four kills before the game even starts.  Assuming we're unlucky, there will only be five of us left tomorrow morning, with three Dark Templar still on the loose.  That's one turn away from the Dark Templar being able to tie the vote.  Two turns if we succeed in lynching one of them, zero if they succeed in lynching one of us, because they would have already won.  I understand the desire for caution, but it's really not a luxury we can afford right now.

I vote to abstain.  Not embolded, just in case someone else has an idea of who might be a Dark Templar, I just refuse to support the 'no lynch' motion, even though though I agree with the sentiment behind it.

It looks like the Arbiter isn't informed, but they should be able to figure it out.  If no one is killed and no attacks are reported, then they know both their protectees were both hit.  The trouble comes when only one was hit, they know that one of their protectees is truely innocent, they just don't know which one it is.

I am indifferent either way, so I will have to abstain as well or simply hold my vote. I cannot deal with guilt of being the reason an innocent was lynched or killed.

Yes, but odds are we'll just kill an innocent person, so instead of four free kills they get five.  And that's assuming the Arbiter doesn't protect anyone.  As the game goes on it becomes more likely their attacks get rebuffed.

Fearful caution may sometimes favor the Dark Templar, but the same can be said for recklessness.  And I think voting to lynch someone when there's only a 30% chance of that person being a Dark Templar is very reckless.  More than likely we'll guess wrong, kill the wrong person, and we'll be minus one protoss for no good reason.

Of course, it'd be a different story if we had some kind of evidence against someone, but... I don't see anything.

EDIT: I'm not sure if I'll be back online tomorrow morning or not, and since I doubt anything amazing is going to happen before this day phase ends, I'm going to go ahead and vote no lynchings!
