In contrast, I'm sure some serious gamers have enjoyed The Sims (I did, I just messed around, had a laugh setting stuff up ... but didn't buy the gazillion expansions).Lavarinth wrote: That's like saying StarCraft II will only be attracting to Koreans because it's a "professional gaming RTS" so it's not for casual gamers who just want to enjoy the story.

Spore was gay because they made each phase way too short and repetitive.

Re: Spore, Released Sep 7th
Blade66777 here. For some reason, I really feel that Spore was a bit over-hyped, and it ended up being wanting in the end. Gameplay's interesting when in the earlier stages, but it gets really slow-paced later on (IMO). Not the masterpiece I thought it would be.
I'd much rather go back to The Sims or SimCity series than play this, dood.

Re: Spore, Released Sep 7th
Fuck I'm bored...
So I created a Slayer and an Omen Berserker...
The Slayer is modeled after the Defiler from Diablo: Hellfire (RCX also used the graphic for Xaxaax and I used it a lot in AO). It is a tier 1 Armageddon creature with decapitate. Has some other variants but yeah. Spore is actually pretty limited when it comes to stuff like this and I couldn't find anything suitable for the mandibles, arm blades, or tail. So it's a bit of a mess and looks kinda... not insectoidy.
The Berserker is actually modelled off of one of Mcfarlane's dragons from clan 4 that I have, also called the Berserker. I had a bit more luck with this one despite the more complicated nature. To create the two heads I used arms, and believe me, the IK FREAKS THE FUCK OUT. You often get heads bending backwards into the body and everything. The game really doesn't like having heads on limbs. Was the only way to do it though. Oddly enough the game had wings almost exactly like the ones on the model.
The Berserker got really tough to get any details on because the game kept complaining that it was too complex, even though the Animus has by far more parts on it, so I couldn't get in the small arms or really any pointy bits.
