Arbiter Aekenon, eh?  Sure, why not.  There's a nice ring to that.

Anyway, I don't think they're both Dark Templar.  I thought about that, but there's nothing stopping them from going ahead and double-voting one of us to an assured death.  There'd be no reason to stall and play this silly waiting game.

Which means that there's just one left, and the only way he'll win is if the innocent guy is foolish enough to vote one of us out just to save his own skin.  And if Thalraxal happens to be that innocent one, then a Dark Templar victory is a very possible reality.

I have to wait until either mAc or Thal vote.  If I chuck mine out there now, our entire colony might pay for it, thanks to a certain reckless Zealot (who's totally gonna lose his Dragoon privileges if he doesn't straighten up).

Guys i am going to ask that you VOTE by TOMORROW MIDNIGHT EASTERN. That means WHEN THURSDAY BECOMES FRIDAY. Anyone who has not voted by then will be counted as an abstain. So you guys have basically ONE MORE DAY to end your little stand-off.

Well, with the imposition of a time limit and the fact that this stand off has the potential to keep going for a while, I'm just going to come clean.

(That, and I don't see any situation where I can actually win this thing.  I had been hoping to get you to lynch mAc, then I could have assassinated one of you guys at night maybe, but I don't see that happening at this point.  Mostly, I just want to write a villain monologue.  So let's just cut to the chase!)

I grow tired of hiding in the shadows.  I, Dark Templar Thalraxal, have been behind the attacks on Eridun!  Though myself and my allies, Dark Templar Lavarinth and Dark Templar Shadowflare, will and have fallen victim to your so-called justice, know that the death of every "innocent" Protoss here was TRUE justice!  You banished us from Auir and damned us to the Void!  All for our refusal to submit to the Khala.  And what has the Khala given you?  The wonderous leadership of an incompotent Conclave?  The complete failure to protect Auir from the Zerg?  Remember: you need our help to truely harm the Zerg!

And then you came crawling to Shakuras, fleeing from your own damn mess.  While some may take pity on you, I do not.  Know that Eridun is just the beginning!  Vengeance shall be paid a thousandfold!  For Ulrezaj!

Ah, that felt good.  Now where was I?  Oh, yes.

I vote to lynch the Alliterative Arbiter Aekenon!

The error of our ways is more than evident.  To shun and dismiss your kind, send them into exile, and dub them with the loathsome term "Dark Templar" because of your differences... this was simply unjust and unfair.  We unnecessarily created a rift between our two peoples, weakening our species as a whole, and for no good reason.  It was a folly.  An ugly decision handed out by our old Conclave.

Our people hated your kind, based on nothing but ill-conceived notions.  But, thanks to the like of Tassadar and Zeratul, those notions were abolished.  When Tassadar showed us the Dark Templar for who they truly are, most of us immediately saw the flaws in our pust judgements.  We had no right to beg for forgiveness... but you know what?  Zeratul, along with most of his ilk, forgave us.

They took the high road, showing us forgiveness in the face of our blatant mistake.  Why?  Because the Dark Templar understood that continuing the feud would be meaningless, not to mention a validation of the Khala's foolhardy way.  They came to our aid, showing themselves to be truly valiant warriors, with unity and peace as their priority.

And it's working.  Slowly but surely... our people will be whole again.

People like you, however, are attempting to dismantle everything both of our kinds have worked so hard for over the past years.  Acting on your hurt pride, you wish to see us dead because your hatreds are more important to you than seeing a brighter future for our race.  You're not a true Dark Templar.  They know better.  You are... just a common murderer!

I vote to lynch Thalraxal.  Not as a Dark Templar, but a killer!

This is justice.

Absorbing Thal's ire to protect the rest?  What an adorably hopeless gesture.  You're about to get the justice you so desperately want!

Even if Thal is exposed, it won't matter if I control the tiebreaking vote.  But I needed the power of Aekenon to do it... I couldn't do that on my own.  So I had you guys do all the sweaty labor for me.  And you even used your final vote on Thalraxal!  If they make greeting cards for helping people with evil plans, I owe you one.  This is my moment.

So I suppose I'm saying you no longer have value to me, Aekenon, so your game is over.  Ciao, Aekenon!

As Negi looks on helplessly, Dark Templars mAc Chaos and Thalraxal string up the flailing and screaming Aekenon to a giant catapult. As a carrier passes overhead, they fling his writhing body at it. Of course, his body disintegrates upon leaving the atmosphere, but the carrier blows up anyway for no reason.

As their beady gaze turns to Negi, he gapes, his eyes wide with shock. But he is already dead, because they shot him with a gun.

The Dark Templar have wiped out Eridun. As the Dark Templar gather in their new SECRET BASE, the time-release mechanism on AA7Dragoon's cryogenic chamber activates. As his consciousness is implanted into a Dragoon, Thalraxal overhears the hissing of equipment and comes to investigate. AA7 frantically dispatches an emergency message to the nearest settlement, the village of Yellowtown. But his battle systems are not yet online, and Thalraxal strikes him down once more.

The stage is set.

------------------------------

The Prime Minister of Yellowtown reviews the stray transmission. Dark Templar? On Aiur? Impossible! But he cannot banish the doubt from his mind. Yellowtown is a small village, but it is located near a much larger establishment, with an active military. The Prime Minister sends out a request for additional troops, warning about the possibility of a Dark Templar attack. They agree, and announce that the troops are on their way. They are sending one of their best Praetors, who has recently developed Khaydarin Core technology for their Arbiter ships. They are also sending a High Templar, something rarely seen in rural Yellowtown. The Colonel did not provide details about their abilities, but declared that he would do so soon.

As the troops travel toward Yellowtown, Dark Templar have already begun to infiltrate the village. Who will rise up and fight for freedom and safety? Who will protect Yellowtown? It is for you to decide.

-------------------------------

ROUND ONE IS CONCLUDED. Most of the confusion this round was caused by Lavarinth, who was AN OBSERVER, and kept making mistakes and typos. Mucky was the other Observer. Shadowflare was indeed a Dark Templar, and Negi and Aekenon were of course the Arbiters.

ROUND TWO SIGNUPS BEGIN NOW!

There will be a number of RULE CHANGES for the next round, intended as improvements of poor rules. One rule concerns TIME LIMITS.

Players will have 24 HOURS to PM me their night actions, and 48 HOURS during the day to discuss and VOTE. I will use Midnight EST (GMT-5) as the cutoff point. This means you should be ok as long as you check the forums ONCE A DAY. If someone does not meet the deadline, their actions will be forfeit or they will lose their vote.

You may PM me your actions in advance if you expect to be unable to meet the deadline. I won't do this for voting, though; if you can't check the forums once every 3 days, don't play. Ideally, once a day should be the minimum. The last game dragged on a bit too long and I want to prevent that from happening again.

Then, VOTING. Voting will still be public, because that is the spirit of forum mafia games. But the "abstain" rules have changed. YOU MAY VOTE "NO LYNCH" if you want no one to be lynched, but this result will only be used if it has TWICE AS MANY VOTES as the person with the highest number of votes. For instance, if there are 2 votes for Bob, 1 vote for Chet, and 4 votes for No Lynch, no one will be lynched. But if there are 2 votes for Bob, 1 vote for Chet, and 3 votes for No Lynch, Bob will be lynched. IF YOU HAVE NO OPINION AND WANT TO ABSTAIN FROM VOTING, then just DON'T VOTE AT ALL. Votes in boldface are still considered final votes.

And lastly, NEW ROLES. I will explain the Khaydarin Core, Praetor, and High Templar after signups. Rest assured, they are awesome.

Now, SIGN UP! I'll start when we have A BUNCH OF PEOPLE.

Sure, I'll go for another win.  The IRON GRIP of the Dark Templar must expand until it conquers all Protoss.

Haha... you played me like a freakin' fiddle, Thal.  Well played.

That was silly of me to vote so fast, I admit.  Though then again... I guess there was no way to win at that point anyway.  I'll gladly take an epic defeat over a stalemate!

And heck yeah I'm ready for another round.

I kinda knew that Lavarinth wasn't a DT.
Thal actually tricked me when he said he wasn't the doctor.

Also, SF is the worst liar ever.

Also sign me up for the next match!

Ahh, I died again!  Damn you, Thalraxal!! *shakes fist*  Maybe this time we will be on the same side, and not have such epic battles where we try to sway Aekenon against each other

Sign me up!

My thoughts on the game based on players:
Mucky - You could have saved us all, but the DT's had a lucky shot on you.  Sorry you died so early!  You had so much potential.
Negi - You were right about Lavarinth, but you lost focus afterwards.  Good call on Shadowflare.  We both knew she was up to no good. ;)
Ricky - You made everything confusing between you and mAc.  In fact, we probably could have detected mAc, if you weren't trying to make him the victim and you suspicious! Ugh.
Frozty - Decent job.  They had to kill you because you were reasonable.
mAc - Et tu Brute?  I thought you were innocent!  You played it very cool the whole game.  No one had a clue you were a DT! :P
Lavarinth - Agghh!  I can't believe we murdered our last Observer!  Don't ever make that mistake again
Aekenon - Basically your vote against me decided the rest of the game.  I can't believe you sided with Thal... twice!  I know I was trying to kill you last game, but come on!  He was so obviously a DT!  Awesome calls on protecting yourself.
Taeradun - lol.  You never had a chance.
Shadowflare - Not bad for your first time.  You stayed under the radar for quite awhile.
Thalraxal - *Shakes fist again*

Milldawg, can we have a separate thread for the next game so it's easier to navigate through and we can preserve this game for the forum records?  In addition, can an announcement be made to the rest of the forumers encouraging them to join in?  They probably think this game is still going on and that the 2nd one's sign-ups have not yet started.  You may want to have this part of the thread split.
I have seen the Desler.  I have tasted of his milk and honey.
