No one seems interested in making any missions with 2 players. Is there any reason?
Personally I think that co-op campaigns are a lot more fun, as teamwork is required to complete the mission.

When in doubt, remember that headshots are worth 10 points.

Re: Any co-op campaigns?
There have been some attempts, but I guess it's the same reason as why professional game companies don't make co-op games (much, there are exceptions), less appealing to singleplayers or something? And of course the: Unknown territory argument.
Personally I like being drawn in by a good campaign on my own pace and hence I think I would not enjoy co-op that much.

Co-op is fun if you want to hack and slash or shoot the bad guys. Plus, Starcraft is strategy, which is generally just 'the player and his base' type missions.
But I guess with RPG levels it can be pulled off.

@slayer: There was once a guy named Tojos09, he posted here about a campaign for 2-players.

My personal opinion about SC maps as 2-player: It is quite fun in a multiplayer game to battle as a team (in fact the best game I ever played still crystal clear in my mind as if it was yesterday, was such a team map), but in a campaign? I am not sure about that, although I admit I have never tried it. The biggest drawback is the re-load issue, if you screw on part of the mission, lose a hero etc. and then force your partner who might have done quite well to re-load, and vice versa. Also, as Maglok mentioned, I think it is better to enjoy a the story of a campaign at your own pace, which may be quite individual.
I agree with Legion though that in RPG it may be quite a different thing (there is no huge camp/army to manage where it would really hurt to go back to the last savegame), and the interaction is closer and more focussed. I co-played quite a few role playing games as a team (now I am going to show my age) as far back as Death Knights of Krynn or, much much later, e.g. Icewind Dale. That actually was quite fun.

Re: Any co-op campaigns?
If it was a VS. campaign with players fighting each other and maybe with CPU opponents just added in, the re-load factor could be removed. If a player lost, that would be it. However, it might be hard to implement a "story" element, unless the creator decided to choose to create alternate versions of the missions depending on which player won.Jadefang wrote: The biggest drawback is the re-load issue, if you screw on part of the mission, lose a hero etc. and then force your partner who might have done quite well to re-load, and vice versa.

Re: Any co-op campaigns?
Could be possible with story arcs. Example:
Map 1 leads to either Map 2 P1 or Map 2 P2. Player 1 wins, go to Map 2 P1, etc. for rest of campaign.
Basically a lot of work and "what if's" for the campaign.

At that point I don't think they'd be all that much different from a series of altered melee maps.Slayer_of_Hero wrote: If it was a VS. campaign with players fighting each other and maybe with CPU opponents just added in, the re-load factor could be removed.
