Starcraft Modding update

Post by supermancc03 »

Hello,

I used to be into modding SC quite a bit back in the day.  This place was the best resource for everything.  I'm glad to see it is still up. I was thinking about jumping back into it.  Hm to reference a time frame when I last was modding, I think we were having issues with SC 1.07 maybe? I remember Desler releasing The Gallantry. It was a while ago and I was just wondering what has changed since then?  I was used to using Arsenal III, StarDraft, StarGraft, ICE, RetroGRP. Are these still the general tools? Do they all work with Vista and/or XP? Has anyone come up with a better version of StarGraft?

Thanks in advance

A lot has changed to the point I don't even know. We're reorganizing the Starcraft resources at the moment.

Alright well how about a good place to start?

It appears as though the tools are a bit more up to date over at SAmods?

Everything still seems to go into an mpq.

In the end- It's all MPQ, yes. I haven't modded in ages, but I believe SCMdraft is the lead for mapping, and the main program for modding these days is FireGraft.
