New Campaign: Shadow of the Swastika

Hey guys, I'm sorta new on this forum now (you may remember me from the crappy "Audacity Problem" topic).

About me: My name is Dillon, I'm 15, and a sophomore in high school right now. I am in fact a fellow map maker. But I digress, enough about me, I have a new campaign for you.

About the campaign: It's still in the process of being made, but I'm pretty far now. The storyline is almost done along with about 20% of the mappage done. I don't know how to make MPQ files nor do I have the time, therefore this will not be a modded campaign. I got the basic idea for this campaign from my Recent US History class I'm taking right now. We're learning more about WW II and its blunders, and I thought "Nazis hmm?". So without further ado, here is my preview:

A shadow from long ago..

The Brood War had come to its end. Kerrigan remained the dominant force in the Korpulu Sector, keeping to herself in her core hive cluster on the planet Char. The Protoss, battered and beaten, have decided to rebuild and prosper, trying to keep out of war, and looking for a way to defend themselves from the new threat that could come at any time from the zerg. Jim Raynor, Artanis, and Zeratul went seperate ways. Raynor searched for remnants of his fleets, or anyone he could hire, to build up an army and combat against the Dominion. Artanis helped the Protoss back on Aiur and Shakuras rebuild, and has become an accomplished Executor. Zeratul, after finding Duran on the abandoned moon, has completely dissapeared.

4 years later..

The Terran Dominion is at it's prime. The economy booms with incoming money from the war machine. The Dominion has set it's course for the smaller Terran factions: The Kel Morian Combine, The Umojan Protectorate, and the most feared of all, the Mar Sara Anschluss. The Mar Sara Anschluss, led by Jim Raynor, is almost as powerful as the Dominion, with combined forces of five different factions alone. It is currently the greatest threat to the Dominion, or so they think..

A new threat..

Kano Mendelo. A fanatical. A madman. A Nazi.

He single handedly leads a new contingent that is unknown to Dominion eyes and ears. A formidable enemy from the past, from the 1900's. The 20th century. No one ever thougth it could happen, but it has. It spreads like a virus, infecting minds and ideals. Turning people into radicals and savages. Everyone following the same cause.

To serve the Shadow of the Swastika.

A new war has now begun..

"We will be powerful, or we will not be. We will stand up or we will drag the others into the flames of war with us."



I hope you've enjoyed my preview. (Please don't think I'm some type of fanatical Nazi lunatic, cause I'm not.. -.- Just got the idea for a good storyline.) I will release the first map soon.

Yes I do. lol That's one of the reasons I put the Nazis in this.    I'm glad you brought that point up though.

Mmmmm... The threat of a new Nazi army against the might of the powerful Terran Dominion... sounds interesting, and it seems quite promising...

Interesting idea. I'm looking forward to that first map. What I don't understand is why would Raynor lead an organisation called Mar Sara Anschluss? I don't think that the terrans would ever use that term.

Well, now that's explain it all:  The Dominion is SOVIET!!!!

Are the Nazis fighting the Soviets again? It's like reliving the Second World War in space! This becomes more interesting with each passing moment.

Well, I guess we already re-lived it.  A bit at the least.  Consider relating some of the events in both SC and BW, and compare them to the real history of before and during WW2.

Fall of the Confederacy and Rise of the Dominion:  Similar to the Russian Revolution against the Czar Monarchy in 1918.

Invasion of Aiur by the Zerg:  Japanese invasion of China in 1931.

UED attack on Korhal:  Nazi invasion on Russian territory in 1941.  Even the Dominion's capital is similar to a russian city, see, Augustgrad is similar to Stalingrad.  Of course with the exception that the Soviets won that battle, different from the game, in which Augustgrad was occupied.

Yeah. Possibly, Blizzard took as reference historical events in the history of humanity for planning battles and events of Starcraft.

Funny you say that, in my alternate history campaign, the Dominion joins the (still existing) Soviet Union as Koprulian SSR.
Personally, I don't really like the mix of WW2 with SC, it is IMO a far too serious topic. But, that is a question of taste.
