Selectively targeted moderation, where a topic with racism can stay open for a week because you are buddies.

Well, two of them were Inuyasha's. And the others were ones where we were flaming each other a lot, or just posting the stupidest things.

I am just pointing out some facts.  They can be ignored.  They can be considered.  Setting double standards can drive people off - just trying to help in a nonchalant way.

I'm not talking about specific rules to moderate, I'm talking about equality of moderation.  If I'm out of line, Lavarinth or anyone else is more then welcome to hit me up about it.  Since you complained about it in the staff forum just today, I said I'd desist.  Simple isn't it?  I'm not here to play alpha male with you guys - I simply enjoy the company of those in the community and would like to see others be able to enjoy it too.

Well things are kind of retarded right now. I'm just browsing right now but I mean seriously. Do we have a rules thread going on or not?

I agree with you completely on equality of moderation, but I think we need to start with having moderation at all right now.

Well, for a while Lavarinth let things go because it was a smaller community made up mostly of veterans.  That was fine, except that, due to Starcraft 2's imminent release, many newcomers have flooded the forums as well as older members that are just returning (me, for instance). So, they came in to this lax environment and figured that kind of activity was allowed and could be done at any time.  Which kinda leaves Lavarinth in a bit of a bind.  Now he has to try to straighten out the vets as well as the noobs and trying regain control of the forum.

Good Luck!

And I still think you are doing a pretty good job.

Hehe, I definitely wouldn't call this a flood.  I'm sure there have been less than 5 new people in the past couple of months.  Wait till SC2 releases.  If Campaign Creations releases a campaign and markets it properly, then you will see a true flood of new faces.  It can still be done today actually, do you guys even announce when these newer campaigns are released to SC sites?  Sure would help build things up here.

I didn't mean a flood of new people, I meant a flood of posting.

I think lav got butthurt last night cause hks and I were trolling him during SS about shit sucking, so he through a hissy fit. To which I replied with my (then amazing) lol thread. But it appears he was actually being serious about the anti-douchebaggery dealie he's got going so I'll behave.

I totally concur with you. I'm no veteran but I've been here for two years and it was better, with the introduction of SC2, more people come (especially when a SC2 campaign made by CC comes out) and act out and now Lav's tired of it.

Well, I have been here off and on for a while now.  I joined like the day before Desler killed the .com, then came back a while after that.  Endured most of Palin's "rule".  Then when he left, and we switched to Invision, I posted a lot for a few days, then got in trouble for overdoing it. In which case, I decided to just lurk and attend SS and FF, then The RL took over.  But I have some extra time to post here lately, so I am gonna try to get back into the swing of things.

Sweet blissful memories.  I should of just put Palin in charge earlier, would have been a much more effective 'whatever it was I was trying to accomplish with that'.
