WorldEdit question related to Death Pact and Dark Ritual

Okay, I'm trying to recreate the WarCraft II Death Knight in WarCraft III, but the problem I'm having is that I can't quite get the Death Coil right. I know there's Arthas' Death Coil, but it's not what I need, it's not the WarCraft II style Death Coil. What I was going to try to do was make a modified version of Death Pact so that it kills any non-hero (either side) and give the Death Knight the health, like the ability is supposed to. The problem I'm having with this is that there seems to be some hard-coded setting somewhere that makes it so that Death Pact and Dark Ritual can only target undead units. I know it's possible to get around this because I've seen a working Dark Ritual on DotA that killed a non-undead creep.
Basically, I'm asking if any of you guys know how to remove the limitation of Death Pact and/or Dark Ritual's targeting, or any abilities that do the same thing but without the targeting restriction.
