Introduction and a Question

Hi, CC

I've been a long time lurker and browsed most of the Campaigns on the panel. I have some skill with the StarEdit, practice from a lot of deleted campaigns after I keep telling myself SCII will come out so what's the bother? Well after downloading the Enslavers II campaign off of Blizzard and seeing the comp AI using recall with triggers I wanted to make a similar trig and mission.

I read the 'USING THE "NEW AI SCRIPTS" article and it told me I could download it in the programs section but I couldn't find anything that said anything about it. Then I downloaded StarDraft, an MPQ viewer and an emerald patch. I'm sure you guys can glean that I didn't know what I was doing. :-[ I opened up StarDraft and came to a sense of what now?

All I really want is the AI Recall so i can pursue my mission.

Thank you for listening.

Yeah, you didn't know what to do. :) You are looking for an advanced map editor. Look for Scmdraft 2 or Starforge and download one of them. Stardraft and the mpq viewer are mostly used for modding.

StarCraft X-Tra Edit also lets you use the extra AI Scripts (like the Recall one).

StarDraft is pretty much obsolete now, mostly because it's incompatible with WinXP.

As for using the Recall Trigger, it's under "Run AI Script at 'location'", where the location is where you want the recall to happen.  Just make sure you have an Arbiter on the map under the control of the player running the script.

Well I downloaded ScmDraft 2 and found it. It made the scenario a success as it worked. It took a few tweaking but it finally gave and I hopped up and down in my satisfaction. Then I deleted it and moved on to my next problem: opening the internal campaigns in StarEdit. I read the FAQ and downloaded the one directly below the MPQ viewer and the data files in that area. I opened the Install.exe on the CD but found no *.chk files. I'm confused on this a bit. Specifically, I want the Zerg Tutorial sounds. This is my first time wrapping my head around this so any help would be appreciated.

And thx to Revan and Thalraxal.

If you're after the sounds, you don't actually need to worry about the .chk files.  Sounds are stored seperatly from the .chk.  Just look for the .wav.  They should be filed under 'campaign\zerg\zerg01\staredit\wav\' in the Install.exe.

I couldn't find the *.wav either. Here this is what I see...
-setupdat\default.vis
-setupdat\font\font16.fnt
-setupdat\font\font16x.fnt
-setupdat\font\font32.fnt
-setupdat\images\installed.pcx
-setupdat\installed.ins
-setupdat\mainplay.vis
-setupdat\scr_main.vis
-setupdat\setup.vis
-setupdat\strings.ins

What now? Or did I do something wrong in the first place?

EDIT: Just figured it out  :-\ Thanks anyway...This will probably not be my last post.
